GE Washer - Profile Top Load - WPRE6100G Review

Bought this new GE Profile washer 4 months ago.  Spin cycle stopped working so I emptied water by hand along with a load of wet laundry.  Called GE and was advised that they would not send a tech until I had gone thru a ridiculous procedure that required I put a significant amount of laundry in, start the machine and then...get this...open and shut the lid six times.  After following instructions I was once again left with a tub of water and load of wet laundry.  When GE so graciously allowed me to have a tech he went thru the same moronic steps and announced the motor must be replaced.  In an effort to close the barn door after the cows had escaped, I did a little research on this machine and found my problem to be all too common with this model.  Apparently this washer is made so poorly that drive shafts and motors are often replaced within the first 3 to 4 months and at regular  intervals after that.  I will continue to monitor the internet in hopes of getting in on the inevitable class action lawsuit against GE.
