GE Super Capacity Electric Dryer —
I did hours and hours of research before deciding to buy the GE 7.0 Cu. Ft. Super Capacity Electric Dryer with 20 different settings and a really nifty drying rack for sweaters and tennis shoes.It is incredibly quiet! I had to check to see if it was still running. It has an alarm, but I turned it off. I love that I have the option to use the alarm.
It has a moisture sensor that stops the drying process once the clothes are dry! Hurray! Less energy use!
Initially, I thought that having a LCD to indicate the time remaining for drying would be technical overkill. But, I have found that I really like knowing how much more time is needed to reach the point that the moisture sensor anticipates that the load will be dry.
The G.E. 7.0 has dry cleaning, antibacterial, and anti-wrinkle functions too. I also love how I can control if I want the clothes to be dry, very dry, or a little wet. It has wide range of drying functions for thick towels to very very delicate items as well.
Another perk is that the lint filter is conveniently located in the front of the machine. It is easy to reach and to clean.
The drying barrel is big with powerful lighting. The control knobs are very easy to use.
I wanted a Maytag because of their reputation for appliance longevity. But the dryers in the price range of this GE dryer had a lint filter located on top of it, towards the back. It was tricky to remove. The Maytag only had 11 drying settings - a lot fewer than this GE dryer.
I read a large number of reviews and found the largest number of positive reviews for this dryer. Even people who have had this dryer for years report being extremely satisfied - as am I. I couldn't be happier!
