GE Soft White Spiral T3 16254 Review Summary
If you’re tired of buying light bulbs all the time and would like to save energy, GE compact fluorescent light bulbs are the perfect solution. Consumers note that compact fluorescent bulbs are direct replacement bulbs for the traditional incandescent bulbs. In other words, you just buy fluorescent bulbs and screw them in. Super easy. Though compact fluorescent light bulbs cost a little more, fluorescent bulbs save 75 percent on energy and last up to 10,000 hours versus 1500 hours for standard light bulbs.

My Dad was always big in lowing his electric bill and back then they had little sicks that you put in before you put your light bulbs in. They would take a 60 watt light bulb and dim it down to a 30...we had the worst reading lights in town. We would sneak them out when Dad wasn't looking just to see. — How times have changed. We have been switching over to the new GE bulbs and I like that they last longer and they are't dim and we can see. — My landlord put in Broadway lighting in the bathroom and those big round bulbs went out all the time and ran about the same…

I love this bulb and it saves my bill every month. Even if it does cost more to buy, it saves me in the long run. This light bulb is great for the environment. It doesn't burn out as quickly as conventional light bulbs and the brightness is the same. I like the fact that it is a green product and will help save our environment. They are slightly more expensive but in the long run you save money by not purchasing them as…

I've replaced all the regular light bulbs in our house with GE Soft White Spiral T3 16254 just about two years ago and still could tell you only positive things about it. It's true, these light bulbs are a little more expensive than the regular ones, but in the long run you'll save considerably, believe me. Plus, they last much, much longer, and their soft light is healthier for your eyes. Me personally, I always support what is good for our environment, more productive and less damaging to our atmosphere. I'm confident in this particular product and would love you to try it. You'll be…

budget conscious
I had heard from my brother and sister in law that these were great light bulbs. They are both very budget conscious like I am, however I didn't really believe if these bulbs would make that big of a difference and I wasn't too sure about spending $3 or $4 on one light bulb, when you could get an army of the regular light bulbs for that price. So I decided to try them... and I have to say, except for the special size light bulbs, I won't go back to regular light bulbs ever. — My bathroom is not very big, not tiny, but definitely not huge. I have a light above the…

We started switching over to these bulbs a few years ago. We have brought down the amount of energy we use, our bills are lower and we don't have to buy lights bulbs nearly as often as we used to. We have one room left to redo the lighting in, and then we will be all green. I would recommend these lights to anyone and…

I had used a couple of these bulbs in living room because I was tired of changing them all the time.I have since removed everyone for fear that it would start a fire.My daughter and I were in the kitchen and she was scared because she said someone turned the light out in the living room after closer inspection I realized there was flames and sparks shooting out the light bulb.I am thankful it happened while we were awake because I always leave at least one light on at night in case she gets up.Had it been at night who knows what would have happend.I have inspected the lamp and…

looking for durability, I believe in honesty, budget conscious, conveniently green, expecting good, fair service, practical, willing to pay for quality, Gotta Love God
It took me a while before I came on board with these. The cost put me off for quite a while. Then, I bit the bullet. Fool that I am!!! Why didn't I do it sooner? I am already noticing the difference in my electric costs (even after a rate increase) and I am really glad that I can see the difference. It will take a while longer to complete the change over to all energy efficient bulbs but I would tell anyone to do just as I have done. I am on a fixed budget and every little bit helps. There is absolutely no difference in the lighting with…

not very handy
I have been replacing all of our bulbs with these. At first, it was a little expensive so I only did the ones we use often, but lately at my local Walmart, they are very affordable. — I only have about 2 old bulbs left in my house. — I bought a little meter that I hooked up in the cellar to just my lighting circuits, and I have noticed savings already. (Of course we don't use out lights the same every day, but it's enough savings to know that it's real) — They don't burn nearly as hot either. (Although you still don't want to touch them) — A great way to save money…

We are converting our whole house to these new type of bulbs. They are supposed to be very efficient and use less energy. I suppose it is our immediate contribution to help fight high energy prices and global warming. It is a small step, but we feel that these bulbs, if used universally, will help reduce consumption of energy. As far as the bulb itself - it is bright! I caution any consumer to read the package directions as these bulbs are brighter than standard bulbs of the same wattage. Buy these bulbs at a lower wattage to get the same - or better - amount of light output. —…

Mr. Fix-it, an aggressive investor
These bulbs are great and I have noticed our electrical use going down since we switched to them. The big issue we have with them is that they take 20-30 seconds to reach full brightness.....the bulbs are not a good choice for a location where you turn on a light briefly (like a closet or a pantry). They are great for use in a kitchen or living area. — Better yet, Costco had deals on these not too long ago where our power company picked up about 90% of the cost of these making them a great value. —…

This kind of a light bulb for high ceilings. I have 20 ft ceiling in my great room and installing these has been helpful. We have been living in the home for approx 5 years and have not had to change them since. It is really dangerous to change out light bulbs at that hight of a ceiling. Since these bulbs last an average of 7 years, it takes the headache out of changing bulbs a couple times a year. I am very happy with this product and would recommend…
