This is my second GE Roaster Oven. My first was lost during an out of state move. I never did find it. I finally got another after a wee bit of hinting around, ok alot.
I like the size and the color, it doesn't show every little drip that you miss like the older white ones. It doesn't heat up the whole house, a bit plus now that I'm in Texas. I love to cook and this is one of my favourite kitchen toys.
In addition to being useful for reunions and parties, I like to cook large amounts and freeze them for later use.Great for saving money, cook once, eat 4 or 5 times.LOL
I always spray mine down with canola oil, it makes cleaning later easier. I hate seeing those whilte ones that look like they've not been washed since the last time they were used, not really dirty, just stained and that bugs me.
I can cook anything in it that I can cook in my regular oven, nope, that's a lie. I don't think I could do cookies in it. It's great for huge amounts of corn on the cob or stews and soups for church dinners.
I like that i can steam in it too, though I've yet to try it for homemade tamales but that's what I've planned for next weekend. So keep your fingers crossed for me.
You do need to keep some space around it as the outside does get hot, duh. So keep an eye on any little hands that might be around yours.
