I am reviewing the GE Profile Armoire-style refrigerator with two bottom freezer pull-out drawers.  It is Stainless Steel in color, and has a very nice, slightly rounded look to the whole thing and the long, rounded, brushed stainless steel handles are really attractive.

The refrigerator is really more...

This GE Profile refrigerator is 4 years old. It cost over $1200.00. At 3 years, the memory board had to be replaced on the refrigerator (it kept heating up and then freezing the contents). The warranty had expired, of course. The cost was $300.00. Then one year later, the refrigerator began to beep, so... review »

Shelves is freezer don't fit and fall down. GE replaced whole refrigerator and second one had same problems. Water dispenser barely works despite valve and filterreplacements. Buy anything but this brand and model. You'll be sorry it you buy one.

I originally passed up other refrigerators like this one for the GE because of a good reputation GE has had in the past. Key word is the past!  I paid over $2000 dollors for this refrigerator and have now had it three years. The first day I received the appliance, the main part that regulates the temperature was not working. Six days later they sent someone to fix it. He didn't know enough about it so a GE technician came and worked on installing a new temperature regulator. About a year and a half later it died, so another was installed and here it is about 14 months later and it again is not...

The GE Profile Bottom mount refrigerator with french style doors on top is the new "it" thing in refrigerators.  I ran right out and bought one so that I would no longer have to lean over to look in or get stuff out of the bottom mount style refrigerator that I used to have.  I am extremely happy with its french door style on top which allows me to open only one door at a time to get stuff out without letting all of the cool air out.  The in-door shelves are deep enough to hold a gallon of milk and adjustable as well.  The glass shelves are pull out, adjustable and very easy to clean.  The...

I like my new fridge!   It has a lot of storage capacity.   It is a model GTH22SARSS, in stainless steel, which is actually relativily easy to keep clean compared to other stainless products.   One drawback though is that it is not full stainless- the sides are black metallic, which is okay, we put family pictures on one side.   The ice makr is really fast and makes nice size cubes and can be directly connected to your water line with minimal effort.  The door can be switched from one side to the other, although it swings ALLLLLL the way open, there is no safety latch on the top or bottom... review »

I bought GE Profile top freezer refrigerator 3 and half years back. It was not maintaining the temperatures. Called GE. They sent a service guys who replaced the controller board on the back in 10 minutes and charged top $$. Apparently the replaced parts comes with 5 year warranty where as the original part has only 1 yr warranty!! If you do not have extended warranty you could be spending on lot of labor and repairs.

I expected GE profile to be very reliable. Apparently not.

I purchased this side-by-side after my old GE side-by-side refrigerator broke down.  I was so happy with my old GE side-by-side that I decided I had to have another.  My old GE had so much space, the ice dispenser was wonderful, and the fridge was very quiet.  The first night I could hear this strange sound from the fridge.  It was quiet but high pitched and annoying.  I did forget about the sound after awhile and not annoying anymore. Soon after, I noticed my fruit and vegetables were frozen.  Obviously when the service peole came over there was no problem.  Milk is hot on the top shelf...

I love my 25 cubic foot stainless steal side-by-side GE Profile refrigerator.  My previous refrigerator had the lower freezer drawers.  This became a pain in the back and knees having to stoop down.  Also having drawers was inconvenient as it was inevitable that the item I was needing would always be at the bottom which meant that I would have to unpack the draw to find it.  With the side-by-side there is no more constant bending, unless of course its at the very bottom.  The side-by-side has enough shelving that I can find things easily without having to empty entire areas to find items. ...

This is the first negative comment I have made on this site, but I need to warn people not to purchase the GE Profile refrigerator/freezer. I have had the GE Profile refrigerator for over five years and it has only been trouble.  I think sometimes I see the Sears repair man more than my family.  The temperature is impossible to regulate.  The first year we had this refrigerator it completely broke down and Sears had to reimburse us for the contents.  The freezer temperature goes up and down so often the food is frost covered.  This summer we had the same problem, but luckily I removed the...

We purchased the GE Profile because of its large capacity and interior design for our new home which was built with custom cabinets which left a space specifically for the GE Profile.  We immediately found that we had to put one hand on the freezer door to keep it from popping open when we closed the fridge door.  We bought the GE in 1991 which lasted to 2004 (13 yrs).  We replaced it with the same Profile "Artic" and found the same problem with the freezer door.  We pointed the problem out to the retailer who was unaware of any such complaint.

Because of the limits imposed by our...

We just got one of these in our home within the last year.  It is outwardly a beautiful appliance with it's stainless steel finish and sleek profile.  However, not the most well built appliance either.  We got the one with the water/ice machine in the door, which is great since we never had that in our old refrigerator.  But the ice machine is so loud.  I've heard other refrigerators with ice machines that are nowhere nearly as loud as the crashing noise ours makes.  It sounds like someone is dropping a bunch of items on the floor every time the ice dumps.  Ice machine also makes a popping...

The GE Profile Side by Side Cabinet width refrigerator has many options.

The one I like best is the the water filter system.  It keeps the water running through the dispensing system clear and clean tasting.  You only need to change the filter once per year.  I do not buy bottled water anymore because the water from this system tastes great.  You can get the filter at Home Depot for around $50.

It also has a drawer in the refrigerator which will cool beverages very quickly if needed.

Cleaning the refrigerator is very easy.  All shelves can be taken out and put back in very easily.  The...

We love this G.E. PROFILE  refrigerator. It has the capacity to hold a large turkey while thawing . It also has great draws that allows you the ability to control the temperature and it keeps salad products for up to two weeks. The door has a lot of storage space for all the little items that get lost in a regular refrigerator. There is also a draw where you can thaw your meat, fish or whatever without leaving on the counter. It has a good capacity for making ice and will give you ice cubes or crushed.  It has door ajar alarm so that nothing will spoil if you by chance should leave the door...

When we bought the GE Profile refrigirator about 10 years ago - I was thinking it was the coolest thing in the world. I actually wanted this side-by-side, was looking for the best deal everywhere and was determined to get this one.

Now I see how much more convinient are the today's refregirators with the lower freezer bin. It is amazing how fast everythng is changin in this applince world. I still remember the small fridge that this one replaced and made me quite happy. I guess we are always chasing our own tail with technology moving forward...

The ice maker has a tendency to stop making...
