I bought this because it matched the new double oven range I was intending to put in my new kitchen. Convection ovens were not a big deal to me, and I chose to not have that in my new range ... BUT having a convection oven in the microwave space is a whole different thing! I never would have imagined I would use it at all -- let alone ALL THE TIME. I use it to bake cookies, cakes, reheat leftovers, etc -- anything that will fit and not splatter (it is not self cleaning, and also would be impossible to really clean easily). I didn't really need a new microwave, my old Sharp Carousel had done well for 16 years, but this baby just caught my eye. Stainless steel front and a black body. Chic and long and low. And big. Big enough for a 5lb sack of potatoes! I was giddy. — This baby is fantastic! I didn't know what I was missing with my old microwave. And I admit I was a bit of a snob about having an old microwave. This microwave has so many nice features. It defrosts in half the time of other microwaves. It also has a nice soften feature that allows you to soften icecream and butter with out melting it. A big plus is that is looks great in my kitchen and does not take up any additional space. I would definately recommend this product to anyone in the market looking for a new microwave.
