Doesn't Like Bacon

GE Profile Microwave — 

We tried to cook bacon for the first time on our new GE Profile PEB2060.  After a few minutes, it stopped heating anything.  After we cooked the bacon elsewhere, the microwave cooled off and seemed to heat stuff again.  I don't know if it is the sensor or what, but it doesn't seem to like bacon.

Did you cover the bacon with a few paper towels? Otherwise, the grease and fat splatters everywhere and could ruin the unit!
