I own a GE dishwasher,  Two weeks ago I noticed that it stopped draining water on the rinse cycle. I stepped through the technician troubleshooting sheet inside the dishwasher. I checked the operation of the drain pump and noticed that it would drain a small amount of the water in the bottom of the washer and then stop. I disassembled the drain hoses from the washer to the sink and did not find any clogs. I then disassembled the sump at the bottom of the washer to make sure there were no clogs there either and cleaned it all up. All the tubes and hoses from the drain pump to the sink looked clear. The flapper in the check valve also looked fine.I then checked the resistance of the drain pump across the terminals and got a 15 ohm reading. The troubleshooting sheet said it should read 30 ohms, so I figured I had found the problem. I ordered a new drain pump. I did a quick reading of the resistance on the new pump and got a reading of 25 ohms. I installed the new pump and got the same results as before, that it would drain a small amount of water and then stop, leaving the rest at the bottom of washer.So after that long winded explanation.  bottoom line i had problems with it

To be honest I cannot compare this dishwasher with other's simply because it is the first and only one I have owned. But I cannot imagine that any other dishwasher could be much better! Even when I put dish's in that have some food still stuck on them they are all clean and spotless when they come out. The only detergent I have used is the all in one detergent bar's with the quick dry rinse aid ball on the top. I LOVE THOSE THING'S! I don't have to worry about how much detergent to use or anything like that, just pop it in and turn it on! I also love the different setting's the dishwasher has, it has a plate warmer, so when I make dinner I pop my plates in there for a few minutes turn on the plate warmer and we all have nice warm plates to put our food on and our food stay's hot longer! and it has a more "intense" wash cycle for pot's and pan's, that I usually use on my dish's too, I'm not sure if i'm suppose to but nothing bad has happened. Yet. I've never liked to wash dish's, so I am thrilled that this dishwasher work's so well, and from what I hear with some dishwasher's you have to wash your dish's before putting them in the dishwasher? that makes no sense! if they don't clean any better than that get yourself one of these!!! Definitely would recommend this to other's!

I think the GE GLC4100NWW 25 in. Built-in Dishwasher is great for my kitchen, which is a huge hodge podge of random kitchen appliances, so the fake wooden countertop thati s attached to the top of the dishwasher blends in nicely with my kitchen! It's very easy to use, with all those buttons and timers and such, but I just love the extra workspace it brings into my apartment kitchen. I plan to move sometime soon, and I bought this a while ago - so I definitely plan to bring it with me when I move. I have not yet had any problems or issues with it. it is compatible with all dishwashing fluid, and has never left any crazy streaks on my eating utensils/plates, nor has the dryer ever malfunctioned - all my stuff comes out pretty dry! I know quite a few of my friends have issues with their dishwasher easily overflowing or flooding or something goes wrong with the water pipe, but no problems here so far!

I really like this dishwasher; we bought it to replace our old one which was over 20 years old. The only thing that I would have to say is that you have to be careful about how you load it.  The bottom rack always comes extremely clean but on the top rack if you don't scrub your dishes pretty clean then there are bits of food and grime that get sprayed around the top shelf and stick to all of your dishes.   I scrub my top rack dishes until they are practically clean just because I don't like to have to sort through the dishes and wash them twice.  Also, it seems to me that the dishwashing cycle on this dishwasher is REALLY long...it seems like it is more than an hour which is a lot longer than my old one.  I usually skip the dry cycle and just open the door to the dishwasher and let the dishes airdry.  All in all, though, this is a great dishwasher and I really like it.  The benefits of it far outweigh the few drawbacks that it might have!
