I purchased this microwave upon going to college. We all know that when living the college life one depends heavily upon the microwave. In addition, to the mere fact that it is used by several people. I purchased my microwave in 1999. I just upgraded this year to a larger size. I felt that I had gotten my moneys worth over the years with this particular brand. I will also include that in this time span it was in storage for about two years. The final straw for me was when I tried boiling an egg in the microwave and accidentally let the boiling egg burn and burst. Oh what a horrible smell. I tried several remedies to rid the microwave of the smell. However, I could never get rid of the smell. It was then that I told myself it was time for an upgrade. As I stated earlier, it is great for dorm life and beyond dorm life. I would recommend this product. Durability Very durable in my case. I had mine for ten plus years. Design Very basic design.

Unfortunately we've had a lot of problems with this microwave. The one we have is a year and a half old and so far we've had a few things go wrong. The plate inside was broken when we got it, but we didn't bother which it and just bought a new one...after that the new plate would not spin inside. At one point we had to fix the fan. It wasn't a bad microwave for the first 6 months we had it and then all went down hill.. Since then we've bought a new microwave. I wouldn't recommend this microwave to anyone. We contacted GE and the re[representative we had talked to did not know anything, they must have been new to the company, but they were not of much help at all. They wouldn't do anything for us when it came to buying a new plate for the inside. The durability and make of this microwave could have been made a lot better. GE is a wonderful company but this microwave in particular I would unfortunately not recommend.

I had a bad experience with a GE microwave in the past, but when we needed a new microwave a few years ago a friend offered us this one for free. We figured even if it didn't last too long we couldn't do better than free. I have been pleasantly surprised by it. I'm not a big microwave cooker, so it is only used a couple of times a week . But it has lasted over two years with no technical problems. It is not very big, but it fits everything I use it for. My favorite thing about it is the butter melting function. Seems like a silly thing, but it has been very helpful since I'm a big baker. It also does a great job popping popcorn and defrosting meat without cooking it. The inside is easy to clean, but I've found that even though I wipe it down regularly, the front never really looks as clean and bright white as I wish it would. I'm not sure how this microwave would hold up being used more often, but for our occasional use it has done just what we need it to. Performance Does everything we need it to. Settings/Features Love the butter melting feature. Ease of Cleaning Easy to clean, but outside looks dingy. Ease of Use Clearly marked buttons. Durability It has lasted over two years for us and we got it second hand. Design Nothing special, but looks alright.

We really like this microwave because it has buttons we use alot like the one to soften butter...I'm a baker so this is very helpful. This microwave has been nothing but appropriate for our needs. We highly recommend it. Settings/Features Like the butter softening setting. I am a baker so this setting is used often.

We have really liked this microwave oven. It's very simple to operate. I like how there are only two items on the inside to remove when you need to clean it. There are some spots on the inside that are peeling a little bit-- probably from cleaning. I'm not sure if that is something to be concerned about. I also likes how it beeps to remind you to take the food out every couple of minutes. It has a timer on there, which is handy, too. Overall, this microwave oven has been pretty good. It was priced well, too.
