Our General Electric DDE8506 Front Loading Clothes Dryer just keeps on working. We purchased this dryer from a friend who purchased it new. It just keeps working. The only negative is that it has started grabbing the corners of my dear husbands work shirts and putting a black line on the ends of his collars. I haven't figured out why or how. I now just hang up his shirts from the washing machine and he throws them in the dryer to get out the wrinkles. My friend recently purchased a High Efficiency Dryer and she said that her dryer does the same black line on edges of clothes, so perhaps is has nothing to do with the age of the machine. We do try to keep up with maintenance of the dryer. We clean out the lint catcher after Each load and try not to overstuff the dryer, so we have not been unbelievably rough with the machine, but it has been used constantly. I am impressed with the durability of this machine. We have gone through three washing machines and the dryer just keeps on drying. Whenever it seems like it is not drying well, we clean out the birds nest that those pesky birds keep building in the exhaust pipe. That's another story, though. Our General Electric DDE8506 Front Loading Clothes Dryer just keeps on working.
