This Basic Dishwasher Gets the Job Done
This basic dishwasher came installed in our town-home. While I don't think it is one we could have picked out ourselves, had we had the option to choose our dream appliances, we have been decently pleased with it. It is GE, a brand I generally tend to trust more than other kitchen appliance brands, so already, it has something good going for it. In terms of appearance, I think it looks okay - not high end, sleek, or particularly classy, but it certainly isn't an eye sore either. It looks like a nice, basic dishwasher - nothing more or less. I wouldn't say it is top of the line when it comes to appearance or functionality, but I do think it is a good value for the money and gets the job done well. In terms of how it works, it is certainly functional. It cleans our dishes well (never any leftover, caked-on food or grease!) and heat dries them very nicely. Does not leave a filmy residue either. It is a very simple appliance to operate, it can fit a nice quantity of dishes, glasses, plates, and utensils in it as well. It's not particularly tall, so if you have large, tall items you wish to put in the dishwasher, they may not fit in the top shelf very well, but I think this could be a problem with any dishwasher. Once or twice we have had a problem with it leaking liquid detergent out the bottom, but as soon as we have it looked it, it stops and resumes working like normal. So far, we're not too concerned about it, but it is something to keep in mind. It also isn't the quietest of dishwashers, so we choose to run it when we leave the house so we don't have to hear it. Overall, we are pleased with how this dishwasher works. It wouldn't be our number one choice in the future when we look to purchase our next dishwasher - we might prefer an appliance that looks nicer and has a few more options, but if you are looking for a well-priced, budget dishwasher that is from a good, reputable brand, cleans and dries dishes well, and does the job it is intended to do, this would be a solid choice.
