GE Electric Dryer
We bought this electric dryer after our 20 year old set of Kenmore washer and drier bit the dust. After having the last set for so long it was nice to have a new set and appliances had come a long way in that time. We purchased our new drier from Lowes. I find that this drier runs quieter than the old one and holds more clothes. An average load takes anywhere from 35 to 45 minutes to dry. I also like the design of the lint trap in the door versus the top of the appliance. Another nice feature is the wrinkle reduction feature that the clothes keep rotating for a few minutes at the end of the cycle instead of stopping and setting there wrinkling. You can set the buzzer to let you know when your clothes are finished and even adjust the loudness of the buzzer. After about two years of use the timer started to work sporadically then all of a sudden corrected itself. Then about 6 months later broke all together. You could smell that it was getting hot. My husband was able to get the numbers and order the replacement timer and put it in himself saving us a service call. Overall I would say that this appliance is a mid priced electric drier, dependable and easy to use. The only problem is that the durability is questionable. We felt that we had timing problems and had to replace parts awfully early on in the life of this appliance and have to wonder if it is sign of things to come. The matching washer we have had no problems with what so ever.
