GE Dishwasher Quiet Power 3  —

My new condo had the GE Quiet Power3 dishwasher installed. For the most part, it's a good unit. Ultimately, all you need from a dishwasher is clean dishes, right? The problem is that one cycle takes a few hours and it's surprisingly noisy for a unit called "Quiet Power." The door is hard to close and it beeps every 5 minutes or so unless it's completely locked in. It almost drove my wife and I crazy while we were trying to find the source of the beeping! Cutlery comes out with watermarks, but a heated dry fixes the problem. It's a slick-looking unit and we haven't had dried food on anything so far. I'd recommend it as long as you don't mind a long cleaning cycle.

Depends which model you have.....My GE GLD5900NWW has a Sani Cycle, Heavy duty, Normal and Light Cycles. It NEVER takes a few hours to do a load, It goes from 36 minutes to 84 minutes in Sani. If you don't have the choices, you have to buy better next time. So far it's Quiet and honestly, I ran it through a cycle in the middle of the kitchen to check for leaks before I installed it under the counter, and it was a very quiet unit considering it wasn't packed away uner the counter. ....No runs, no drips, no errors! :)

I've been puzzled by those very long wash cycles on some models. My last house had a pretty basic Frigidaire dishwashers than ran less than 1 hour and the dishes were almost always clean.
