I'll admit I don't like using the microwave much unless I am in a rush or something like that, so I needed a simple to use one and this fit that. I also like that it doesn't clog counter space, which again since I don't use it all that often is why one like this which is a bit more out of the way than a counter top version is perfect. It heats everything up pretty quickly and evenly. The main thing I'll use it for is a quick side if needed, like those frozen bagged sides. Most of the time it heats them up fully (sometimes you may get a small amount at the bottom that can be cold, but usually not). I'm not putting it above an 8 because its still a microwave and should be a last resort. Performance It does what it needs to. Settings/Features More than your average microwave, there are a lot of fairly unique features than what you normally would find. Ease of Cleaning Any microwave is pretty much the same, cleaning the inside is most important. Ease of Use As simple as any microwave. Durability So far, so good. Design Has a nice design, not too bulky, doesn't look too out of place with everything else either.

If you want to heat up your food in a high-quality, quick microwave, you want to use the GE Cafe 1.7 c.u. ft. Over-The-Range microwave. The stainless steel and black design compliment both black and stainless steel appliances, so it blends in many different kitchens. One major benefit of this appliance is that it is over-the-range and because this microwave is larger than the standard size microwaves, it saves a lot of counter space being above the oven. It also makes it a lot easier to use because you can easily transfer things from the stove top to the microwave. Another benefit is that this microwave has a pull handle and not a push button to open the door. This makes it a lot easier to open and is a worry-free method because the button on some microwaves gets stuck but with a handle, the door will not get stuck shut. It is very easy to clean. I simply use soap, water, and a dry towel when I wash mine. The stainless steel makes it a little higher maintenance because finger prints show easily but it is an easy cleanup. Settings/Features It has the typical popcorn and defrost settings, along with a wide variety of other settings.

I am very unhappy with my purchase of this microwave. We have had to get it serviced several times since purchasing it a couple of years ago, and it was expensive (along with the companion GE stove). The display panel (where the time is displayed) stopped working. Fortunately it was still under warranty (just barely) but we still were charged something for the visit. GE said that the replacement part cost as much as the original microwave!! For the price that they charge, this product should have a full 5 year parts and replacement warranty. I feel like the components were not designed well and will not last over 10 years like our last GE microwave did. Sometimes it randomly gets "stuck" with the display settings on and the fan running, and the only way to stop it is to unplug it, which basically resets it. This actually happens fairly frequently and shouldn't happen with a microwave of this price and supposed quality. The plug is above the microwave in a cabinet, so it's not easy to get to the plug and unplug it and then plug it back in when this happens. I will definitely look for a new microwave brand for my next purchase.
