GE Dishwasher worst dishwasher I've ever owned!
We moved from a home where we had a Bosch dishwasher &, I'll be honest, I thought that dishwasher was almost perfect. Sure, it could've been quieter, the cycles could've been quicker, but really we were pleased, even after owning it for 7+ years. Our new home was a builder's model home & came with the standard appliances. Even opening this GE dishwasher showed me how cheaply it was made. The door swung open & felt hollow, the racks were flimsy plastic & loose in their guides (later, multiple wheels on the racks fell off, some into the heating element where they melted!). Upon using this dishwasher, I saw that the performance matched the poor design. Food debri remains on more than half the dishes after a typical wash cycle. We've gone from putting almost any dish directly into the dishwasher to virtually pre-washing each item. In fact, this dishwasher is so poor that the residue left on our glasses was so thick & baked on, I had to just replace them. I disliked the performance of this dishwasher so much that we tried to replace it with the 7+ year old Bosch from our old home, but were unable to. I'm a very frugal person & typically would never replace something that wasn't in desperate need of replacing, but if given the chance, I'd get rid of this dishwasher in a heart beat for a different model! Noise Level Need to turn TV up in next room while dishwasher is running. Cleaning Time Average cleaning time Loading Flexibility Very little room & little flexibility...unless all you have are tiny dishes & glasses. Performance Have to pre-wash almost every dish. Durability All materials feel cheap - door feels very lightweight & hollow, trays are flimsy & are sure to break easily, wheels have fallen off trays (& have fallen onto the heating elements & melted!)
