GE Dishwasher

2

I have to wash my dishes before I put them in the dishwasher and even still it does not get the dishes very clean. The dishwasher is so loud you can not hear yourself talk when it is running. It makes a loud click when the soap compartment opens to dispense the soap onto the dishes. I have changed soap brands 3 times in hopes it would get the dishes cleaner but so far nothing works the best. I would pretty much prefer to wash them by hand if at all possible. I am a mother of four and have no time to wash load after load of dishes by hand so i try to get them rinsed at good as I can before putting them into the dishwasher if at all possible. I really have no control over the brand because I live in an apartment and can't change it out even if i wanted to,it comes with the place and I am not going to spend extra money on something that is not going to be mine. It is not really big either since i do live in a smaller space so it is hard to wash too much at once. I can not put pans in it at all! It clogs up in the drain all the time so i have to have it cleaned constantly, even though i put fairly clean dishes in it to start with they still are not clean enough when they are done. Noise Level It is so loud!! Cleaning Time takes over an hour to run

GE 2100N00WW

This DW was already her when I moved in, had I had a choice I would have picked a better model after doing some comparison shopping. The 2100N00WW does not clean dishes well, there is residue from the detergent and streaks. I have to either rerinse or rewash them again to get the clean. Having to rewash them is a concern because of extra energy consumption.

Does the job

Our old dishwasher (4.5 years old) started to leave tons of white powdery stuff on our dishes that we could not get off, so we decided to get a new one. We are planning to move from our home in 4 years, so we didn't want to invest a lot of money in an expensive dishwasher. So we found this one at a large home improvement retailer for a very reasonable price. Unfortunately, the quality is not the greatest. It squeaks really loud when the door opens, it feels very lightweight, and it took several washes until the dishes started to come clean. You cannot get as many dishes in this one as I did in my old one. It washes for a really long time, and you can hear a loud sound when it goes from one cycle to the next, not to mention it is very loud in general.  On the good side, it is a very simple dishwasher and our dishes are coming out spotless now. It is also energy star rated, so it saves you some money in the long run. Bottom line: if you do not have a lot to spend and need something that will just do the job...this is the product for you. However, if you want a quality dishwasher that is going to last 10-15 years...spend some more money and get a heavier-duty one!   Noise Level It is loud, but not obnoxious. Cleaning Time I can usually get about 2-3 washes in a day (if necessary). On the bright side, the dishes do come out very clean. Loading Flexibility You can really get a lot in this washer. Durability Cheaply made.

Dishwasher that needs extra prewashing.

This dishwasher was built in to the house we bought.  If I had been able to choose, I would probably not have picked this one.  We need to pre-rinse almost everything off our dishes before loading them, and they still occasionally come out less than perfectly clean.  The cycle is quite noisy.  We often have to shut it off if we are trying to watch tv in the next room so we can hear.  It is very easy to operate and does seem to hold a lot of dishes.

My GE Dishwasher is a lifesaver

This is the first dishwasher I've ever owned and I'm 41..crazy huh? It was bought new when we moved in to our new house a little over 3 years ago. I learned quickly that there is a learning curve to using a dishwasher, at least this one. If you really want something clean, put it on the bottom, even cups/glasses. It will get whatever's on the bottom nice and shiny clean, without a doubt. Now, if you want to put anything on the top rack, which would be silly not to, beware. When you put things on the top rack make sure they are rinsed, no stains, not even a milk or coffee ring or it won't be clean. If you're going to put a cereal bowl on the top rack be sure to rinse it first, almost so it's clean enough to put in the cupboard. Something else I find is that the spot where you put your detergent does not always open. I use Electrasol because it works the best, but the gel ones work the best because the machine doesn't have to work as hard to break it up.  So, yes, it saves me having to do the dishes by hand, but I have to be careful how I do them.
