Having fought a two year battle with GE service/repair - and lost - I refuse to buy any more of their products. I've probably wasted a good 30 hours of my time writing, calling to resolve a moisture problem (the latest of many problems). 5 times, over a period of 2 months, a service repairman did not show up in time frame (not even the same day) GE promised. Finally, they replaced the doors after showing up one day they were NOT scheduled. But then It then took 3 months and about 10 calls for GE to remove the huge boxes they'd stored in my carport. Though I've never had any problem at all...
review »Horrible terrible service. I will NEVER buy GE again, not because of the product quality, but because IF you need service, you're doomed. Their techs will NOT show up, and there is no one to check with if they might be coming at some point. Their scheduling department doesn't connect with customer relations nor does anyone connect with the dispatcher. There seems to be no communication at GE Service between any of their departments. and to get a live person on the phone requires tremendous perseverance. We had 5 no shows so far, and I just scheduled again (which took me 45 minutes to schedule...
review »The ice maker on our high end GE refrig/freezer broke. For five months we have had repeated service calls from GE to try to get this fixed -- with each "fix" lasting as little as 24 hours before flooding began again. How many days do you want to take off from work to wait for the repair person to show up and how many service fees do you want to pay? GE is refusing to honor the 30-day warrantee on service that they publicize. GE does NOT "care". Buy a different brand!!!
