I really like th GE A950 Digital Camera. It is the best camera that I have owned so far. Image Quality I think this camera takes really good pictures. Performance I have no trouble using this camera when I am taking pictures. Portability This camera is very easy to take anywhere.

I dropped this camera on the sidewalk the first day I had it and the controls have been pretty flaky ever since.  It also does not handle moisture very well, as it also shut down for several hours upon getting rained on.  Whether I can blame the camera for that I'm not sure. My only other complaint is that you can't manually set exposure times on this thing, so even if you have a nice, still scene, you're not going to take good pictures in low light.  They'll just come out black, or black with grain if you turn the ISO all the way up. Even in relatively bright light care must be taken to give it time to focus properly and to hold it still while pictures are taken, or else manually switch to a higher ISO, since the advertised 'image stabilization' doesn't seem to work very well. The automatic panorama mode is pretty neat, though again, care must be taken to line things up as close as you can or you'll end up with a bit of a mess.  It does the stitching right when you take the picture, which is convenient, but does not allow you to adjust the process as you would if each section were stored separately, as the Canons I've used do.  Another mode that I find handy is continuous shooting mode, where it takes one shot after the other as long as you hold down the button.  Good for getting pictures of the cat. I've taken some excellent close-ups, even on cloudy days (mushrooms, bugs in the grass) that rival the quality of those taken with my Canon Powershots that cost 4x as much. I like that this runs on regular old (or NiMH) AAs.  No need to lug around special chargers. I would recommend this to anyone who takes their pictures everywhere and doesn't want to worry too much about dropping/losing their camera.  With a steady hand and a little fiddling you can get a lot of good pictures out of this thing.  But if you need a lot of control over your pictures, need something that can take shots in low light, or have a wobbly hands, then this probably won't work very well for you.  But it could still make a dandy backup camera.

I bought this camera because while I was visiting Arlington Cemetary I had dropped and broke my other and with a two year old grand daughter and a newborn grand daughter, I was what I consider 'in deperate need' of a camera. It is a General Electric A950   9.1 Megapixel with 5X Optical Zoom    2.5" LCD. There are a lot of options for great picture taking. One of my favorites is the panoramic shots, I can take 3 pictures and shoot a big scene or a room, it has a guide so that 3 pictures can be consecutively taken and put together after they are printed out or when uploaded onto a computer you can see the three of them together. It has Smile & Blink detection so if someone blinks, you know and can do re-takes! No more red eyed family, friends or pets, either! It has red-eye removal. There is a lot to learn with this camera and it takes a little bit of playing around with it to get the idea of how it works well. I would recommmend it to anyone unless they're in a hurry to start taking pictures, at first a lot of my pictures were blurry, then I learn it has 'stabilization' and when I learned how to use that feature, I have great pictures!

the ge a950 digital camera is a very good camera resonably priced it takes good quality pictures,the pictures are very clear even when you zoom in on a object from a distance we bought the camera to take pictures at a concert we were going to we were sitting a good distance back  from where the stage was and when we went to take a picture of the singers we were seeing in concert we were pleased with the quality of the pictures after we had taken them even when we zoomed in the people we were taken pictures of were clear and not blurry  so we were happy the camera is very easy to use its not big and bulky like some cameras so its easy to carry it with you where ever you go , concerts, parties or what other event that you might need to take pictures at  and it comes with a memory card to download them onto your computer for shareing the pictures with family or friends that live out of town or in another state or someone that just wants to save them on their computer,i would reccommend this camera to family and friends.
