FIRE HAZARD

2

Was a decent middle of the road value unit until the timer knob failed after 2 years of use, which results in the unit turning itself on when it should be off, and staying on until unplugged. Someone could die from this, get severely burned, or have a child touch the unit when it shouldnt be on. DO NOT BUY.

I love this toaster oven!!

Toast. Many of us love that crunchy piece of bread with maybe a bowl of cereal or a glass of orange juice. This oven is something I've grown very accustomed to, even if it's for tasks such as heating up a slice of pizza. I have been using the microwave for a while, and usually it does all my heating things. Pizza- microwave, roasting cashews or nuts- microwave. I also eat a bunch of indian "extras" that can be placed in the microwave too (like papadam). Anyway, the toaster changed things. I take majority of my heating tasks to the toaster now. And the thing about the toaster is it tastes much better. This particular product is amazing. It can bake, broil, toast, and it saves me electricity and money since it doesn't use up that much heat. I live in a pretty tight place, so turning on the oven in the summer isn't usually "wonderful". Also, this toaster has a pull of "crumbs" tray which is extremely useful. Less cleaning = a happy me. Even Heating a little off sometimes, but i think it's more to do with the fact that i throw my bread in. Ease of Cleaning pull out crumbs tray. less cleaning to do.

General Electric Toaster Oven Cooks Great

5

I am not a huge fan of micro-waving left overs of other foods even some of the frozen foods and yet dont feel like opening the oven if it is just for me or a quick and that is where the General Electric Toaster Oven comes in handy. It does not take up a lot of space on the counter so you can really put it anywhere and yet you want to be able to get it quickly like I do and there it is right on the counter waiting to be used. I find it extremely helpful and if you are cooking for one person lets say when they come home from school, work or practice this is perfect and very efficient. However choose General Electric as the Toaster Oven as your choice as it is a good product and performs easily and well. It does what it promises and that is what you want from a product.

This toaster oven is versatile and handy.

This is the largest toaster oven I've had, and I find I really like the larger size. I can fit a small casserole dish inside it. I very rarely use my big oven anymore, which, of course, saves energy. It's also easier to get things in and out of a toaster oven on the counter than to wrestle things in and out of a large oven. I do a lot of baking in my toaster oven, but I also find it very handy for keeping things warm. Sometimes dinner is ready, but my husband isn't home yet, so I'll turn the toaster oven to the "keep warm" setting and stick a dish or two inside. That keeps me from having to re-warm everything in the microwave when he gets home. I really like having a timer because I can be a bit absent-minded. Knowing the oven will shut itself off after a pre-determined time is a relief. The crumb tray is easy to remove for cleaning, but ours got a bit discolored after a while. I put aluminum foil on it, mostly for cosmetic reasons. I also find that the toaster oven's larger size makes it a little harder to clean than smaller ones I've had in the past (it's harder to reach the back) but for me, the trade off of a larger cooking area is worth it. This is a decent-looking toaster oven that should match most kitchens. It's versatile and very handy.

Be weary this thing is dangerous!

I HATE using this so-called toaster oven because it is nearly impossible to control the darkness on it. It has a timer dial with 2 icons, one black, one outlined (white?). You have to figure out what your favorite setting is supposed to be. It will never be the same setting twice, because you turn the dial and there is no way to know you have it set at the same position. That is RIDICULOUS for a 'toaster oven'. Also, it is too large, so that if you set the rack in the middle, the top of your bread will be toasted more than the bottom, plus, it takes FOREVER to toast to a near-medium doneness. Most often you will get nearly-burned toast. Whoever designed this thing was an idiot. Whoever approved it for sale as a toaster oven was a bigger idiot. I feel like an idiot because I bought it, hate it, but did not return it. I wanted the smaller version that actually has a numbered dial for toast, but I couldn't find those. Apparently they are either being phased out the small ones are being bought and these big clunkers are left in the store. DO NOT BUY ONE unless you like frustration every morning for breakfast.

I wouldn't take for my General Electric Convection Toaster Oven.

5

When I decided to purchase a convection toaster oven I did a lot research in the internet on them.  I didn't want to spend a lot of money, but wanted a brand that carried a name I knew and trusted.  I chose the General Electric Convection Toaster Oven because I have always trusted the G.E. name. Also, the baking space is just perfect for cooking for two people.  It came with a rotisseri feature, broiling pan and two different types of racks.  The fact that it is stainless steel with black trim made a perfect fit for my kitchen.  The time it takes now to bake a quick pan of cornbread is less than my big oven.  It saves energy because I don't heat up the entire house with my gas oven. Casseroles, cakes, rolls, meatloaf - they all now a common item in my kitchen.  Broiling steaks is a breeze.  I no longer set off my smoke/heat dectector when I open my oven door.  I have had my G.E. convection toaster oven for a little less than four months.  I LOVE it.

I'd be lost without my GE Convection Toaster Oven!

My husband and I use toaster ovens several times a day , every day.....so we have purchased many over the years....this is my favorite....we bake, we toast, we broil....for just the two of us, I never use our big oven anymore! This one does it all ! It's easy to clean with the slide our crumb tray....it is sleek and shiney , so very attractive on my counter....matches my other appliances....it is simple to use....and fast, using the convection oven!  I am proud of my meals when they come out of my GE Convection Oven. I was a bit afraid of using a convection oven ...since this is my first time...but this oven makes it easy!!  From early morning toast....to frozen pizzas at lunch ....to our main meal at dinner, I keep this baby hot!  I would choose another GE Convection Toaster Oven again and again...and it would make a great wedding gift for a new bride...who is new to cooking! I am thankful for the dependable appliance...

Don't get too close to the GE Toaster Oven, Model 169127

I wanted a new toaster oven.  I didn't want to pay alot, but I also wanted one that looked nice and would last.  Since many items in my kitchen were gradually becoming stainless steel, I decided the GE Toaster Oven, Model #169127 fit the bill perfectly.  This toaster oven is all stainless steel, except the controls, which are black hard plastic.  The box said not only was this a toaster oven, but a convection oven also.  I did not know and still don't know what a convection oven is, but the aesthetic presence was very nice. I have really enjoyed using this (toaster) oven, although I don't eat bread, so I have never toasted a piece of bread in it.  I live alone, therefore; I very seldom use my regular gas range.  The GE Toaster Oven is my main cooking appliance, coming in #2 just under my microwave oven.  I am able to cook just about anything in it, including a small whole chicken.  Some of the toaster ovens I have had in the past, have either burnt the food on the top or burnt the food to the cooking pan, but this oven seems to cook very evenly. The oven does not take long to reach its cooking temperature and doesn't loose heat as quickly as others I have had every time you open the door. There is only one slight problem with the oven.  Since it is stainless steel, the outside gets very hot when in use.  A couple of times I have started cooking something and have forgotten to take whatever it was I had sitting on top of the oven off before turning it on and I have had more than a few plastic items melted to the top of the oven.  Luckily, I never left the item on top throughout the entire baking time, therefore; I was able to clean whatever was stuck to it off easily. Since the oven gets so hot while in use, I have had to remove it from the counter top and purchase a cart (stainless steel) with a solid top to set it on.  And by all means, **DO NOT GET CLOSE TO THE OVEN WHILE IN USE**, especially if you have small children.  Just touching the front, sides or top could cause a severe burn. Overall, the GE Toaster Oven, Model #169127, is one of the best toaster ovens I have ever purchased.  I would recommend this toaster oven to anyone, especially those without small children in the house.  And I still don't know what a convection oven is after owing one for over a year!!
