What's the point of a cordless if it rarely stays connected?????
a home owner, a believer in technology., appreciative of good service, willing to pay for quality, disappointed in this product, in need of crisp, clear sound, I like options, not rich

This is the second GE 5.8 set-up that I owned.  I returned the first one, as it didn't work straight out of the box.  The current set-up is nearly as bad.  They both "communicate" with the phone company every 1/2 hour, apparently having to do with caller ID and checking to see if you have voicemail to alert you to.  But having all your phones light up every 1/2 hour as if you have an incoming call gets a bit old.  Additionally if you don't time it just right and are trying to dial out, you can be interupted by this little phantom internal operation.

Not all it's cracked up to be
very disappointed with this phone, not rich

The first few months with this phone were great.  Thank the second unit started losing it's connection occasionally with the central base unit, until it was gone altogether.  It wasn't a battery thing because I tried that.  Not sure why it won't keep the connection, but very disappointed with GE product.

I bought this inexpensive GE 5.8 GHz Cordless Phone Model 25922EE1 this weekend at Sears for only $18.88 plus $2.89 for extended warranty.  It was easy to install and appears to be working properly.  In the past, I have purchased some other inexpensive GE cordless models and have been pleased with them.
