GE 49-80413-1 Review

After cleaning gas and electric stovetops for 30 plus years, I was tired of scraping and scrubbing metal and enamel surfaces.  I bought a GE Radiant Surface Glass Cooktop and my nail polish now stays intact -  until I have to clean my oven.  A quick wipe of the surface removes grease and grime like magic. My stove shines like new every day and makes me look good even though I"m less than fastidious about my housekeeping.  Since I love a bargain, I'm winning two ways.  I save money on scouring pads and, perhaps more importantly, I recapture the time  I used to spend cleaning.                                                                                                  In addition, my cooktop has a wonderful variety of heating options from warm to scorching hot. It also has circles of heat for small to large cooking utensils.  The selector knobs are easy to view, since they are on the surface instead of perpendicular to the stove.  Although this might seem dangerous in the presence of small children, the lock out control sounds off if any knob leaves the off position and when you lock the controls to prevent unwanted use of the cooktop, an indicator light glows. l                                                                                     Another great safety feature is the red light that lets you know the surface is still hot. No more burnt fingers.  What a bargain!                                                                                                                                                                              I  must admit I was a little hestitant about a glass top, since my significant other and I are vying for the world's biggest clutz position.   But it has handled our abuse and keeps on cookin'.
