I got this fryer as a gift several years ago and while I dont use it frequently, I like it a lot. It of course comes with the basket and has a deep reservoir for the oil. Very easy to clean because the reservoir where the oil goes is a container that comes out of the casing so you dont have to pick up and dump the whole thing. Nearly every piece comes apart for easy cleaning. The lid eve fits entirely over the handle of the basket so there are no burns and no splatters. Also comes with a booklet of basic cooking times which helps the inexperienced user. Only bad thing I have found is that the edges around the lid are very sharp. It holds at least a gallon of oil, which can fry several batches of things before it needs changing. Not really the size for quick one time use frying. Great whether you're doing fried chicken or french fries, very simple to use and lots of fun! Ease of Use As easy as setting a temperature and timer

My family bought the Hamilton Beach Deep Fryer on a whim. My brother loves french fries and so we decided to try to make some at home. But having never used a deep fryer before, we struggled to use it. My dad ended up having to come in and save the day, since everyone else was weary of the hot oil either spill or splattering. It was also a chore finding the right oil to use -- and it used quite a bit! Not to mention the clean up. This product was quite difficult to clean. Anyway, we ended up using this product maybe one more time before retiring it. In the end, french fries were not worth going through the hassle of using this product--at least for my family and I. It was easier (and healthier) to bake french fries! Performance As I mentioned, the french fries were good, but they weren't so good that we felt a desire to use the product again. Ease of Use It was definitely not easy to use -- at least for a family that does not fry a lot. Durability If my family and I felt the need to use it again, I'm sure it would work just fine. Ease of Cleaning It was difficult to clean this product, especially of all the oil it required (not to mention disposing of the oil afterwards).

Performance - This deep fryer is a good size for those looking to cook for 2-3 people at a time. It takes longer than expected to heat the oil but once it is hot, the oil remains at the set temperature pretty well. If you try to put in a lot of food at once without placing the lid over after, the temperature will drop and make food greasy but with the lid on, the oil remains at the proper temperature. I've done everything from chicken wings to donuts to fried candy bars. The handle feels cheap but works well enough. The GE 12-Cup Deep Fryer is a great size and does the job. I like the options of adjusting the temperature, but the light that shows when the fryer is hot went out after a couple of uses. Its super easy to use, but its ridiculous to clean. Deep fryers are already a pain to clean and I feel this isn't making it any easier due to the shape. Performance Its a great performing deep fryer. It allows for the perfect fry no matter what your cooking. Ease of Use It is very easy to use. The temperature is adjustable and the net makes it easy to take items out. Durability This deep fryer shown its wear and tear with only a couple uses. The deep fryer wasn't terribly expensive, but I felt it should of held up a little better than it did. The light that shows when the deep fryer is hot went out within a several uses. The plastic around the dials started to bubble up. It still performed well,but it wasn't good looking. Ease of Cleaning The shape makes it very hard to clean. I would opt for a wider deep fryer versus a long slender one like this one.

Everyone should invest in having a fryer at home. There are some foods that just don't come out the same unless they are fried, even if you bake them. We decided to go out and see what was out there, for a small fryer that didn't take up a lot of room. We saw this one and like that its more narrow than wide, making storage, or even keeping it on the counter top, work because its not bulky. We also like the lid that can be put on it to keep splatter to a minimum. I did notice though that this fryer takes a while to heat up and it is not very consistent as far as keeping the oil hot in between uses or not getting too hot when nothing is in there. There were also a few times I had to turn it off and back on to get it to come on. I think that next time I would actually prefer something with two baskets so that I can fry small or large amounts at a time, or two separate items at a time. If you are a beginner and need something easy for home, I would recommend starting out with this one.

We received this fryer as a Christmas gift, and it is one of my favorites. It's not ginormous but it's not a dinky one person fryer, either. It fits well on my counter. It's not too heavy, but it's not flimsy. I like how the cord does not plug in, it's pulled in magnetically, which I consider to be a nice safety feature. It is very easy to use. Our is now almost 3 years old, and we have never had a problem with it! It still looks like we just got it! It works well! Any type of food we've cooked in it has cooked evenly and nicely! There is a little window on the lid for you to peek in at the food. I do not understand this feature. After just one use, the inside of it is so covered in oil that has popped n snapped up that no one can see inside. If you don't clean it after every single use, and c'mon...who does?...it takes some elbow grease to get it clean. But what product covered in grease does not? It is easy to unassemble to deep clean, and then reassemble.

This fryer is great for deep or shallow fry like fish,chicken lollipop and nuggets.Food cooks fast and tastes delicious and without fear of forgetting or over cooking due to timer and heat settings. We have used it for 5-6 hours straight when we have party at home. If you take care of the appliance, it lasts a while. Timer could be louder but keep reminding me oil is hot and something is cooking.the parts are dishwasher safe.only concern is it requires lot of oil for cooking due to size and not helpful for smaller quantity and cannot reuse the oil if u fry fish or marinated meat. This is the best fryer I have ever used. My old one broke and wasn't too great to begin with so I bought this beauty. It is better than any other deep fryer I have ever used. It can fry a good amount of food at a time. It is easy to use and it is easy to clean. Everything is fried perfectly and tastes wonderful. I can use any type of oil that I want. Instead of getting some greasy fried food that I don't know what's in it at some restaurant, I can make it at home and make it better. This is perfect for fried chicken. As long as you know how to use this this is a safe fryer to use, much safer than putting oil into a pot. The basket included is great and it keeps everything together, it makes it easier for me to take out as well.

I have bought two of these and both failed. What junk. I would not recommend this to anyone. I thought surely the first one was a fluke but now the second one??? Pure crap quality. Performance Here's how it performed: it heated up and then shut off, never to heat again. It failed during a second batch of French fries...turning them to mush as the temp never came back up. Oh and did I mention this is EXACTLY how the first one performed. I'll be taking this one back and buying another brand. Ease of Use It's very easy to use: plug in, fill with oil, turn on, and wait to heat up. Add food, and then wait for unit to fail. Remove oil soaked food and put in trash. Put lukewarm oil in old fashioned pot and heat over fire. Return unit to store. Very easy. Durability Uh. Not durable at all. Two units both failed.

This deep fryer has just about everything you could wish for, it breaks down for easy cleaning, the lid fits nice and tight-no spatter. The timer is handy when you have something else going on and can't stand right there, and the timetables listed in the book are accurate to a tee. It has easy to see indicater lights of two colors, one to let you know it's on and another when it's reached the adjustable temp. Handy from across the room... The magnetic cord is new to me, and I'm not sure how I feel about it, as I've stuck it in the wrong place trying *not* to spin the fryer around to see where to plug it in. That just won't work and the slightest bump knocks it off completely, but I like the idea and ease of it. For everyday frying from the freezer, it's a perfect size. However for deep frying from scratch, or anything that is going to sink to the bottom, like chicken fingers, it's not so good. It sticks to the basket and won't rise to the top. Before you know it you have a basket bottom full of fried batter that makes that chicken stick even better down there. Trying to knock the food loose results in exposing the meat, it sticks that well..it's just not deep enough for that. Frozen foods don't seem to have that problem. Over all it's designed well though. I can let my teen use it and not worry about him putting to much in the basket and the oil over flowing, it hasn't happend yet and believe me, with the more is better attitude, he's tried... If there was one thing I'd definatly change about it, it would be making the oil fill line easier to see. It, of course, is black like the pot and hard to see. Over all, I love this fryer and have recommended it to several family members, who love it too.   Performance It just doesn't get any better than this. Perfect size, doesn't hold a ton of oil, easy use basket and cleans like a dream. Ease of Cleaning Better than great!
