Ebay was there and so was Fusion Beauty LipFusion Color Shine in 16 shades for half the retail price. Sold!
I was interested in this product because it claims to draw water from other parts of the body to the lips, effectively and safely plumping them, and keeping them plumped for up to 48 hours!
Interesting concept.
Not so great results.
My Use
I chose the shade Dream which is a nice mauve/plum.
The color looked great in the tube and I quickly slicked it on to see what it would do. I liked the shade and the way the gloss felt on my lips. It isn't overly sticky and has enough color to give lips noticeable hue.
The gloss tingled as most plumpers do but it wasn't overly painful or burning. That tingling lasted for around 10 minutes.
I checked the mirror and, although I really loved the shade and the shine, I didn't notice much plumping. Thirty minutes later, I saw a little bit of plumping. A very little, but some. It gave my upper lip a tiny bit of extra volume and my lower lip a tiny bit of inflation.
As for the plumping lasting 48 hours, ha! My lips were back to normal in an hour or two.
The color wears as well as most glosses. It will stay on for an hour to an hour and a half if I don't eat or drink.
$38.00 is insanity if the product doesn't plump well or last long and this does neither. However, it does look very flattering and it does plump a little for short while.
I would buy a few other shades if this wasn't so expensive. Even at $19.00 apiece on eBay, it's too costly to justify buying.
It's a good, slightly shimmery, shiny gloss that plumps a little for a short while. I'd pay $15.00 and not a penny more for it.
Conclusion
In 16 shades, this gloss is flattering, shiny, and versatile. As for plumping, it does do a bit of that as well. Everyone varies but, for me, the plumping was slight and short-lived. While I like the idea of marine collagen micro spheres seeking out my own body's moisture and drawing it to my lips plumping them naturally, the results would have to be much better for me to buy this gloss again.
3 stars. As a gloss, it's flattering but as a plumper, it's a disappointment.
