Reading and working take on a totally different significance when you do them in the "natural" light of the BlueMax 41w Dimmable Floor Lamp manufactured by and sold at www.fullspectrumsolutions.com

Various studies have shown that people who work under full spectrum light -- whether in factories, schoolrooms or at home -- experience less glare, greater comfort and physiological benefits that impact on production and general health. Varied versions of Full Spectrum lamps are used to treat SAD (solar affective disorder), a form of depression resulting from appropriate-light deprivation.

Well... there's no mistaking the lamps pictured here for things of beauty.  I chose the model at top because the shipping was free if I bought an extra bulb -- a very good deal in this case.  Each bulb lasts up to 10,000 hours and is warranteed for a year.  (The lamp, itself, has a two-year warranty.)

Compared to my older Full Spectrum model, my new one has a bad case of "dress-up" with detail lines of "gold" and a patent-leather-glossy white finish. I could also have had it in black for the same price or, for more money, in a nickel or brass finish.  But the basic BlueMax lamp would have still been the same -- homely.  The important thing has to be how well it works.

For starters, BlueMax dims from 100% to 20%.  It will be flicker-free if properly broken in (no dimming for the first two hours of use) because it has an electronic ballast system.  This outstanding, dimming feature belongs only to Full Spectrum Solutions products like the BlueMax.

Whether you try this model or one of the more attractive and more expensive models, be sure and read the assembly directions from A to Z.  This way, you'll get the absolutely best benefits from your lamp.

Full Spectrum Solutions online provides and links to plenty of educational material on the subject of blue (full spectrum) versus white (regular artificial light).  For people who work under fluorescent lighting and experience depression and/or physical/behavioral diffculties, this information may be especially helpful.

In any case, the clear, non-glare, "daylight"-bright experience of my BlueMax 40w Dimmable has been a very positive experience.  For me, it's a matter of actually seeing much better.  And, especially as we age, this benefit provides great joy.

I love the review but I'm not too sure about putting this in my house for one reason: It reminds me too much of those lamps they put at the end of the table in the Ob/Gyn's office :+(
