Very easy to use

By

from West Olive, MI

Comments about Fujifilm - FinePix E900 Digital Camera:

This is a really great camera for us first time digital camera users, I did find it a little difficult to set up the time and date.  the camera is quite small, which can be good and bad.  It hink it is a little too small for me because I am so used toh aving the standard film 35mm camera. This is rated rather high by consumer reports, as it is hard to find. it hooks up to your printer and computer and you can download pictures really easy.   it does not come with a case, which I still have to find, the picture card that comes with it only stores 6 photos at a time so you would need to order a picture card with a larger memory capacity.

Wonderful! Everything an amature needs in a manual camera!

By

from Huntley, IL

Comments about Fujifilm - FinePix E900 Digital Camera:

This camera has taken many many great photos for me. The manual settings are great for an amature photographer and the auto settings are great too. The LCD screen lets you know when more light is needed for a great picture. Macro setting is great for closeups. I can adjust shutter speed and aperture in a second. I've had this camera for a year and have had no technical problems with it. 9.0 megapixels so my pictures come out perfectly. It's a quality camera for the price.

Fuji Film made a fine camera for those willing to learn

By

from Le Sueur, MN

Comments about Fujifilm - FinePix E900 Digital Camera:

Personally I have had this camera for years, and in my time with it I have taken some decent shots. Many of these shots have delighted me and inspired me to upgrade my camera.  This being said the Fuji FinePix E900 is an intermediate beginner camera.  A term I admit I am making up so I can say, it isn't quite a point and shoot, but it isn't in league with a SLR, or DSLR.  Hence the title I have given it.  If one wishes to learn about f-stops, histograms, and other photographically related options, at a reasonably cheap price and without giving up the point and shoot capability and ease of use then this camera is for you.

The downfalls of this camera are that is dependent upon XD memory which is more expensive than SD.  And That it is on the old side for electronics.  If you are looking at one I hope you find it for a steal.  Because there are too many new cameras out there with more functionality in the current market.

Average users may find FinePix E900 too much camera

By

from Ames, IA

Comments about Fujifilm - FinePix E900 Digital Camera:

The FinePix E900 was my first digital camera. I looked all over for the best camera for the price point I wanted. FinePix E900 was recommended and it *was* a great value for the price. The problem is that it was my first and it has SO many settings. There are so many menus and submenus and it took me a while to figure it out. I loved the movie feature, but the files ended up being HUGE. I couldn't figure out how to make them small enough to email so I had to end up posting links to YouTube for the movies and they were 20 sec or less. My new camera is a [FinePix Z20fd][1] also and I am finding it has the same problem as the E900 - the flash is WAY too strong in many indoor situations. With the E900 you have to take the picture with flash and then usually turn the flash off to get it right. OK if people are posing, but you may get unsatisfactory indoor pictures until you get a feel for if the flash will be too strong.

It uses 2 AA rechargeable batteries, which are included with the charger. It's a plus to have an easy to find battery. Again, if you're a beginner, you may not know that using a regular alkaline battery in the camera lasts for about 3 minutes so get the rechargeables. It also includes a 16 meg memory card, which is small, but it's a start. It does use the xD memory card which is pricier. The included software is easy-to-use.

I liked it, but I think it just had too many settings and options for a first digital camera. You should either buy a case or neck strap for it, as it is too bulky to fit in a pocket or a small to medium purse. The viewfinder is a great size and the zoom is great too. The local community college offered a one-day class on using your digital camera. I was going to take it, because I felt like there were so many features on this that I did not fully understand how to use. Maybe the person who stole it is having better luck. :)

An excellent basic digital camera, but....

By

from Pittsburgh, PA

Comments about Fujifilm - FinePix E900 Digital Camera:

When I was looking for a replacement for my first, ancient, digital camera I went to Consumer Reports and found one of their Best Buys- I have never gone wrong with that approach. This camera is indeed worth the money, easy to use, fine pictures, great video clips, easy to change resolution, battery life is good, the camera is compact. I've taken hundreds and hundreds of pictures. But the one problem is that with enlargements the sharpness loss is very apparent, and was disappointing for me- I thought surely a 9 megapixel would do better. My next camera WILL do better.

not the best camera I've owned

By

from Manchester, TN

Comments about Fujifilm - FinePix E900 Digital Camera:

This camera was difficult to learn to use.  The flash does not come on unless you tell it to each time you use it.  You can change the F settings to compensate for the darker setting, but that is time consuming.  This is not a good camera for beginners.  I have not been impressed with the pictures, either.
