Fuji - S3000 Digital Camera Reviews

I have used this camera on a semi-professional (I shoot for the local paper and have done product shots for magazines, but I am not a full-time photographer) basis and won awards with it. I just upgraded to a digital SLR (a professional quality camera) and I am giving this camera to my daughter. But it has served me well. And I recommend it, or the newer version (the S700) to anyone looking for a reasonably-priced all-around starter set-up. This one takes excellent and detailed photos and, on the highest resolution setting, will create images suitable for publication.

 I am not a professional photographer, but my husband takes beautiful pictures with this camera. 

For me the pros for choosing this camera was stablility of holding it, taking consecutive pictures and the large  LCD screen.   The batteries last a long time, we took it on a week vacation, and took about 300 pictures and never had to change the batteries.  It is very lightweight and easy to handle.  You can use this camera manually or automatic.  It has alot of great functions and is very easy to use. 

The only con that I can think of is it won't fit into a small camera case.

This camera does it's job but it's too big to pop in your pocket or purse. I miss out on a lot of great photo opportunities because it's too big to carry it everywhere. It has 6x Zoom which is less than many current cameras available. 3.34 megapixels were a lot when this came out in 1993. Not now. I would have liked the camera to have a charging unit. This camera goes through AA batteries like crazy. Bottom line, I was happy with the S3000 when I recieved it (though even then I did not like the big size). Now, it is time to get me a new compact camera I can take everywhere.
