A couple years ago, while browsing through a fancy gourmet supply store with a friend, I picked up a bottle of Froth au Lait Vanilla Flavored Syrup. I don't know what possessed me for certainly I had no real plans for its use when I bought it. In fact, until a couple weeks ago that bottle (securely sealed) sat right there in my kitchen, getting shoved out of the way on a regular basis. Finally, I tried some the other day and I have got to say that this stuff is wonderful!
Froth au Lait Flavored Syrups are meant to be used as flavorings for fancy coffees and other beverages which are "frothed" in Froth au Lait coffee makers but can also be used for other things ... desserts, ice cream sundaes, even pancakes or waffles. There are four flavors including Hazelnut, Raspberry, Caramel and my choice ... Vanilla. The 12.7 fl. oz. plastic bottles are variously priced in different websites (including Amazon) and can even be bought by the case.
STATS:
Two tablespoons of syrup are considered to be a single serving containing 80 calories, zero each Total Fat and Sodium, and 19 grams each Total Carbs.
TASTE TIP:
Froth au Lait Flavored Syrups can be used in many ways but my favorite is as a light after-dinner dessert in a glass. When there isn't even room for Jello but you still want something a little sweet, add a couple tablespoons of Froth au Lait Flavored Syrup (or less if you prefer) to an 8-ounce glass of your favorite cold milk.
