Most HelpfulI love my 14 pound Jack Russell Terrier and would pay any amount to keep him healthy and happy (and have in vet's bills). Mickey has a flea allergy so, when he has one, it feels like he has 100. And when he has 100, well, he's a hairless, red, mess of a creature.
I tried Frontline Plus Frontline Plus...

Have 5 dogs - All large! Have tried both products and also seen the clinical testing. Both products boast about lasting for 30 days, being waterproof and eliminating fleas and ticks. Those things are true however I found that the Advantix does not allow for near as much biting considering that it is a "contact repellant " as opposed to Frontline. Consider the clinical trials - Both products tested- Both killed fleas, it took Frontline longer. Fleas...
read full review »We have used frontline plus on our 2 pedigree labradors for a few years now with no problems. We found it effective in emliminating fleas and ticks and very user friendly. Until this month when both our dogs reacted to the product and began convulsing within 4 hours of application. Unfortunately 1 died from poisoning and the other is left with neurological problems. Initially our vet said the frontline plus would not of caused this but after days of researching this product he agreed that indeed there was a high possibility that this frontline plus batch could of indeed been the cause, particularly...
read full review »When you live in a flea "hot zone" like South Florida during our humid summers and early fall it's almost criminal to let your dog out without flea protection. Not only will these little pests torture your dog, if your pet is in the habit of jumping into bed with you at night you're going to be fair game as well. Trust me when I tell you there are more benign ways of honing your ability to empathize.
When our Miniature Schnauzer, Brandy was a pup, our Vet gave us a sample of Pfizer's Revolution Flea and Tick Control. It was highly effective but it's available only with a prescription and...
read full review »I've been using Frontline Flea and Tick Preventative since it came on the market.
Unlike the over-the-counter (OTC) products you can find in pet product areas in stores, Frontline is only sold through veterinary practices. The difference between this and the OTC flea or tick products are two-fold:
First, Frontline stays in the animal's pores and is not absorbed through their skin. This makes it more effective since it stays where it's needed, and it's safer, since the other pesticides that are absorbed through animal's skin must be metabolized (processed) by their kidneys and liver. Over...
read full review »Listen, I've loved FrontLine Plus for Cats for years---until it stopped working! Nowhere in the product info will you find any inkling that this could happen. And considering it's designed to keep our furry friends flea & tick free, that's important to know. Also, when you realize it isn't working, it suddenly becomes cost-prohibitive: You can't re-dose them, so it's money down the drain.
Try calling the toll-free number? Good Luck! I don't care how well you've documented the failure of the product, the MANUFACTURER WILL DO NOTHING. 1-800-PET MEDS DOES HELP, however, by refunding you money or...
read full review »I have been using Frontline Plus for years on my dog and cats. I have tried several of the brands that you can get from any store. None of them seem to work anywhere close to Frontline, especially if you live in an area where fleas are a major issue.
It is easy to apply - just crack open the small vile and place the liquid on your dogs skin at the lower part of their neck, between the shoulders. Within 24 hours your pet will be free of fleas and ticks and it keeps them off for the next month or so. Frontline is waterproof too. So you don't have to worry about re-appyling it after your pets bath....
read full review »I like front line but when you have more than one dog it gets quite expensive. Also when it comes to applying to my cats they run and hide. I wish the pharmaceutical companys would come down on there price. With some of the other topical flea products you can 4 vials and with frontline you only get three.
It would also be great if the company that puts out frontline would offer discounts or coupons for people who have multiple pets in there household or places that run a shelter or rescue.
I have tried the store brands, Frontline, Frontline Plus, and Advantage. By far, the Frontline Plus works best. Sometimes we would go several months between treatments and it was still effective. Look at the box, it says it lasts 3 months for fleas and 1 month for ticks. Our dog was allergic to fleas and once we started the Frontline Plus, within a few days, he stopped itching and his rash went away a few weeks later.
If you purchase from your vet, it will be fairly expensive. However, there are several places online that you can find some good deals, especially ebay. Ask your vet...

Going to the dog park, walks and the vets office are all potential points of exposure. We use Frontline Plus on ALL our animals!
I have seen over the counter products used on cats-even the ones that "claim" they are safe for cats. It causes seizure like tremors which sends the body temperature up. IV muscle relaxers and fluids are needed to keep these animals alive!
PROS: It won't kill your cat! It is HIGHLY effective in controlling...
