Frontline Plus didn't do enough to make my dog comfortable.

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

I love my 14 pound Jack Russell Terrier and would pay any amount to keep him healthy and happy (and have in vet's bills). Mickey has a flea allergy so, when he has one, it feels like he has 100. And when he has 100, well, he's a hairless, red, mess of a creature.

I tried **Frontline Plus Frontline Plus for Dogs & Puppies 11 22 Pounds 3 Applicators **to control his fleas in the summertime and was disappointed. Although the claims are big for this product, I found it didn't do the job well enough.

This applies to the back of the neck and then spreads through the skin. It is supposed to kill fleas, flea eggs, and all sorts of nasty stuff.

However, after a week, my dog was itching and sc...

Lethal to Fleas & Ticks, Easy on Your Dog

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

When you live in a flea "hot zone" like South Florida during our humid summers and early fall it's almost criminal to let your dog out without flea protection.  Not only will these little pests torture your dog, if your pet is in the habit of jumping into bed with you at night you're going to be fair game as well.  Trust me when I tell you there are more benign ways of honing your ability to empathize.

When our Miniature Schnauzer, Brandy was a pup, our Vet gave us a sample of Pfizer's Revolution Flea and Tick Control.  It was highly effective but it's available only with a prescription and at a price that would make even a Colombian drug-lord blush.

We began using **Fr...

Frontline Plus, get rid of fleas and ticks fast!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

frontline plus is really good stuff.  We have used it for years now on our small dog Clara  that we still have and our huge English Mastiff named Yikes  that we had for ten and a half years.  Unfortunately he passed away a couple years ago.  Actually we would buy it just for the big dog and use one drop on Clara since she was so small.  she is about nine years old now and only weighs five pounds.  this was cheaper than buying it for the two different sizes. Just be careful to use the amount that you need for both when doing this or ask your local vet.  just be very careful not to let your cats get any on them. It can kill them, even a small amount...

Frontline, Excellent Frontline

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

We think this is the best product on the market available for our dog.  We have a long-haired golden retriever.  He attracts ticks and fleas like crazy, because we have him outdoors so much.  We tried a variety of treatments before we found this one.  The difference was astounding.   Within 24 hours of giving him his treatment, there are dead ticks and fleas all arounf him.  He does so well with this.  We have to mark our calendar so when know when to next to adminster the treatment, or the ticks and fleas come back with a vengeance.  This product is pricey.  About $51 for a 3-month treatment.  We feel it's worth it because our dog does so well with it. It would be nice if frontline would make coupons available, to help with the cost, but nevertheless, it's still a good value for the high price.  If we hadn't found this, we would be bringing our dog to the vet repeatedly to be "dipped," as that was the only other remedy that seemed to work!

Fleas gone in one day

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

We brought our 8 week old Welsh Pembroke Corgi home from a family farm with fleas.  This was our first dog and we didn't know what to do.  My husband immediately went to the local pet shop to find out what to buy.  Frontline Plus was what was recommended and he bought some right away.  My kids were afraid our house would be infested, they would be bitten and our poor doggie was scratching and scratching.  Within hours of the application we started noticing dead fleas and withing 24 hours, our dog was no longer scratching.  We still use this product and it is very easy to apply once a month.  Simply pull back the hair and apply to the base of the neck.  When our dog got a little older and wiser she would squirm a bit and it took two people to apply the medicine--one to hold the dog and one to apply it.  But now that she is older she doesn't mind.  We have had no problems with fleas and have continued monthy applications.

Fleas be gone...sort of!

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

We have five dogs and live in upstate NY so fleas have not really been a problem. Usually we try to use natural remedies to prevent and control fleas.  This year with the heat however, the fleas are thriving so we are forced to use Frontline.  We do not live in a rural area.  We live in a town with a small fenced in yard so we have not really had flea issues.  We have one dog that loves to lay in the yard in the sun so he is a prime target for the fleas.  Then he spreads them to all the other dogs.  The Frontline works great for the other four dogs.  When we apply it and if they have fleas the fleas are gone and if they don't have fleas they stay flea free....

Flea free is for me!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I highly suggest Frontline for dogs to every dog ownder out there. This product is amazing! We live deep in the woods and this products repels it all!! It is easy as pie to apply and lasts quite a while. I do not apply every month, more like every 2 and this does exactly as it says. I do not have fleas or ticks, and we have a TON of ticks out here. They do get on the dogs and are killed once they bite the skin because during the summer when ticks are the worst, I find dead ones all over the house, especially where the dogs sleep. That is proof enough for me that the Frontline is doing its job! I have in the past used the Advantix, the competitor of Frontline, and that did not work nearly as well, I am highly satisfied with the Frontline. Although it is sort of on the expensive side, especially for me being a stay at home mom, I have to save money any way that I can, but this is definately worth the price.

Take it or Leave it

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

We bought Frontline to use with our dog when he got fleas. I think it was one of the first things we tried. It works... sorta. Its not the greatest. It didn't kill off the fleas like we had hoped. It did lowere the flea amount though. But it didn't stop them from laying eggs, or stop the eggs from hatching.

However, we found when used in combonation with a capstart pill for fleas it really works well to get rid of fleas.. But still we can't seem to totally rid our doggy completlely of those rotten fleas. So thats why my rating is 'Average'. Frontline seems to work like everything else, killing most but not all of the fleas.

It is also a little on the pricey side. The equivalents like sentry etc. Seem to work just as well, but are cheaper.

I'm not sure if I reccomend frontline or not. I think I reccomend using it.. but if it doesn't work try something else, or maybe start with the cheap stuff first to see if that works.. or maybe just use capstars which I find work well.

Thanks for reading!

Frontline is a great product

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

This is the first year that we have used Frontline instead of other flea and tick products. I really think it is a great product. It is very easy to apply and it doesn't seem to drip or be messy at all. I also like the fact that it does not seem to leave as much greas residue as some of the other products I have used on our dog. My dog is black and will attract fleas and ticks just like a magnet and she does not have any on her after using the Frontline product. We also have two cats, one is a longhaired cat andone is a shorthaired cat and they are no  bothered by the prodduct and are around the dog all day. They even play together so it is cat safe as well. There are so many products out ther that are available to purchase but this one to me is the best I have used so far. Our vet was out of the usual product that we use  so we got this one insted of it and I am very pleased with it and have no intention of switching back to the other product.

THIS STUFF IS DYNAMITE!!!!!!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

To begin with, I had my husband pick up flea meds for my dog Rosie, she is a poodle who is spoiled rotton........... anyway hubby got home and he had ADVANTAGE Flea med the stuff you punch a hole in & spread it on the dogs head and back to her tail, will this ADVANTAGE was suppose to be good according to the VET, so my husband took the VETS advice and got it instead of my FRONT LINE I use on my dogs since I discovered how well it works.I can honestly say, I have never seen flea meds to work like Front line, I had 2 dogs in my home when I discovered Front Line & we were infested with fleas bad, and my son would get hives when a flew would bite him, so I had been buying & trying everything, th...

Frontline Plus Best Medicine for Fleas

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I have used this product many times on my dog and have found out this. It worked very well for him in the beginning and now it does not seem to do the trick. I believe it to be a good product but it seems just like humans the pets get immune to this one type of flea and tick killer and it does not work so well. I have a sheltie dog and he is always catching the fleas or the fleas are catching him. I know this is what I tried to go along with this product and it is skin so soft oil spray works very well also. The nasty flea and bugs stay clear away from him when I use this combined with Frontline. It is possibly one of the best things I ever did for my pet. I have a lot of people who buy this...

Fleas Appeared on My Dog Only After Using This Product

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

I purchased Frontline with three easy applicators for our dog we adopted from the animal shelter. I had previously been using Advantage from the vet's office, but since we were buying $50 bags of dog food for our beloved pooch, I thought I might be able to save a buck on flea preventives. It comes in three little applicators - just open one and place the liquid on the back of the dog's neck each month.

What I like about Frontline Plus:

  • It was less expensive then Advantage.

  • You only have to apply it once a month.

  • It is easy to use.

What I don't like about Frontline Plus:

  • It wasn't much cheaper than Advantage.

  • I didn't see any fleas on our dog until I started using thi...

Frontline has worked great 4 all of our dogs- no ticks or fleas.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

My two youngest sons, Samson and Jackson, are my 90 plus pound black lab babies. We used Frontline on our first two labs, Otis and Leroy (RIP) with success so we started both of these babies on Frontline as soon as they were old enough. We've never had fleas and we've never had ticks as long as we used it. I'll get to that. That's why I know it works for ticks.

Frontline is a liquid flea and tick prevention medicine that comes in little vials. You crack the top open, rub back the hair to expose the skin behind the head and apply. It's quick and easy and apparently painless as my dog seem to treat it as a good neck rub. It only has to be applied once a month. I have the little heart ...

Frontline Plus caused vomiting and convulsions.

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

We have fleas on both our cat and our 12 week old puppy.  After recommendations by vets and a good pet shop we used Frontline Plus.  Roughly 5-6 hours later the puppy was vomiting quite badly and then had convulsions.  When told we had given Frontline, the vet did not mention that these were possible side effects.  She had us worried about every other possibility.  We have since found a few sites which mention possible side effects.  These include:Loss of appetite, underactivity, convulsions, whining, barking, crying (vocalization), body twitches/tremors, overactivity, salivation, stiffened limbs, unsteady gait, incoordination, labored breathingOf these, our dog...
