Frontline Plus Review

I've used Advantix with terrific success for the last few tears on my 50 lb. Aussie mix. This year I switched to Frontline Plus at the insistence if my husband. It seems his mother's vet told her Frontline Plus was better than Advantix because it kills more types of ticks. It was important to us that it work on ticks as well as fleas since we are nature lovers and like to do a lot of hiking and camping. So of course we wanted it to protect our dog against as many types of ticks as possible.

Fast forward to 2 months later and our dog is scratching like crazy. We can't seem to get the fleas under control, even applying the frontline every 3 weeks instead of every month. The worst part is, we went camping and hiking last weekend and ended up with 11 ticks on of our poor miserable dog! And this was less than 1 week after re-applying the Frontline Plus. With Advantix, we never had a single flea or tick on our dog all summer. I bought a 6 month supply of this stuff and I'm more than a little disappointed to find that I wasted over $70 on it! I'm switching back to Advantix and giving the rest of this worthless Frontline Plus to my mother-in-law. Expensive lesson learned: It's worth the few extra dollars for Advantix!
