Frontline Plus —

We have used frontline plus on our 2 pedigree labradors for a few years now with no problems. We found it effective in emliminating fleas and ticks and very user friendly. Until this month when both our dogs reacted to the product and began convulsing within 4 hours of application. Unfortunately 1 died from poisoning and the other is left with neurological problems. Initially our vet said the frontline plus would not of caused this but after days of researching this product he agreed that indeed there was a high possibility that this frontline plus batch could of indeed been the cause, particularly if the product had not been transported properly and been exposed to sunlight, and because our 2 dogs were from the same blood line they both react to the same thing. Afterall we are applying 2 chemicals onto the dogs skin and their body is absorbing it. It's just a pitty that this warning isn't highlighted more boldly on the packaging.

My 6 year old pitbull just died last week. A few hours after I aplied frontline I found him layed out in my back yard by the door without movement just breathing as if he was paralized or something. Noticed a weird rash all over his body even in his ears. hosed him down a little to see if he would get up but only got a few slight head movements. After that I immediatly brought him to the vet. Vet told me he had a heat stoke and was now suffering from DIC that he had less than 1% chance of recovering. My dog was only outside a few hours and had fresh water the whole time on a day that was no hoter than usual and I know that if I didnt put those drops on him he would still be here with me now
