I could help more if I knew what breed your new baby is. Also I would need to know what your baby weight and if you have cats in the house. At first glance, I would say to purchase advantage for kittens!!! YES kittens!!! It is incredibly safe - Now, you can purchase that at any vets office - It is non prescription:) But before you do all that - I also would like to know the age of your baby. There are some breeds of dog that are sensitive to particular meds in the drops. If your pup has white in the eyes, there may be a gene from a parent/grandparent that says that there was an albino in the bloodline. I wouldn't put anything on that pet but possibly and only possibly BioSpot. So, to be on the safeside, send me that info age, weight, breed:) There are several things to take into consideration - I overall reccommend advantage for kittens to actually use on pups. Also, where do you live? As in what state? If it is cold where you live, then you do not need to use drops:) No since in medicating if you do not have too. Another thing to consider, if you have a new pup with fleas, you will also very, very likely have tapeworms in your pup:) Those are the ones that look like rice - or dried rice on the rear end - usually sticks to the fur. If you have a cat in the house NO NOT USE ADVANTIX!!!! You cat could suffer neuroligical damage if this is ingested or if he comes in contact with Advantix. My favorite product is actually Advantix - Kills fleas, ticks and helps with mosquitos. I have used it for years and actually do have a cat but the cat does not come in contact with the dogs. Advantage is a gentler form but only kills fleas unless you get advantage plus:)

I just read your post - sorry I didnt see it sooner. I am terribly sorry for your loss. As you see in my post, I do not use Frontline. There are better products out there.
If your Vet has deemed that this product caused the untimely death of your baby then I would reccommend that you contact the manufacturer and demand at the least compensation for the cost of the product. . This will take effort however I have seen it done. The compensation will not make up for your tragic loss however it may be your loss that may prevent further losses to other pet lovers. Certainly extensive research needs to go into a product before using it on our babies.
