Frontier Airlines Review Summary

Thinking of flying Frontier Airlines? You’re in luck. Viewpoints members give Frontier Airlines a solid rating. Travelers say they enjoy the Direct TV on each seat and pre-boarding for families with young children makes Frontier Airlines a "favorite" airline. One of our reviewers went so as to declare "I LOVE FRONTIER". However, travelers also say that there are limited non-stop flights and some of the perks are not really perks. Direct TV and snacks are not free—so bring extra cash. See where Frontier Airlines ranks amongst the top rated airlines on Viewpoints.

I flew Frountier last summer from Portland, OR (PDX) to Atlanta, GA (ATL). This was my first time flying so I was a bit nervouse. Check-in in Portland went quick, that Frountier employee's seemed friendly. Plane was on time, had a 2 hour layover in Dever. Again the plane was ontime. From the Denver to... read full review »

Frontier airlines is a decent low cost, single service alternative to the competition. I find their planes very comfortable, with the exception of the smaller commuter flights operated by their wholly owned subsidiary Lynx Aviation. The service is friendly, though they do tend to be a bit stingy with... read full review »

Flew them for a business trip - OMG!  The pilot must have been practicing when we landed in Denver - it was such a bad landing that a little child got sick!  Everyone was nauseas when we finally got on the ground.

Then, heading for home - we take off, in the air for no more than 20 min. and the pilot announces that we have to return to the airport!  Apparently upon take off, a part fell off the plane.  They didn't need this part to land, but to take off again, they needed this part and if they landed in Sacramento, the part they needed wouldn't be there - but they had one back at the Denver...

I LOVE Frontier.  That's really all I can say about it:  I Love Frontier!

However, I'll go on for the sake of elaboration only.  That really does sum it up in a nutshell.

The staff is incredibly friendly and they do their best to not only service your needs but keep you entertained.  We had the most hilarious (flamboyant) flight attendant of all time on our flight into Denver and our connecting flight out of Denver to Detroit.  They played games with you, laughed with you, and just were overall attentive to whatever you needed.  The pilots kept you informed and were also charming.  The flights...

6 of us Flew roundtrip from Spokane to Indianapolis Oct. 2009 for my son's wedding.  Was the worst time we ever had.   Upon arriving at 5 a.m. at Spokane International we were boarded on a 6:30am flight.   After 7:30 we were told we had to exit and go back down to the airline check-in counter to be rebooked due to mechanical problems with the plane.  Stood in line for hours til we were rebooked on United, got to destination 7 hours later than our original time.   That wasn't the worst part.   After spending the weekend at Indianapolis,  we again arrive at Indpls. airport at 5 a.m....

I bought a last minute ticket this week to attend a funeral for a dear family friend. The night before the trip I ended up in the ER with my 6 day old daughter who had a fever. It was incredibly scary for about 76 hours, and the last thing on my mind was canceling my ticket. 5 days later she is still in the hospital but stable so I had a minute to call about my missed reservation. Terry, a supervisor, told me too bad. no refund. no credit. Because I bought the so-called "economy ticket" which is anything but on a last minute flight, there was nothing I could do about it because that was...

Frontier Airlines might be classified as a "budget airline," but I in my experience I have had more comfortable seats, more leg room, better service, and fewer delays than with the big airlines. The food served on board has been a little more decent as well. Plus, I love the pictures of animals on the signs and painted on the planes. Children in particular really enjoy traveling Frontier for that reason. I started flying Frontier souly because they were cheaper then my other options, but now I would choose them even if they cost a little more. I only wish Frontier Airlines flew to more of the locations...

I have flown Frontier twice.I would consider it a little above average.I have never had a problem with them.Never a late or cancelled flight,no luggage lost or damaged. The stewardesses have always been friendly at least somewhat. There is not much legroom, and my usual carry-on bag doesn't fit under their seats, but will in the overhead. It does fit under the seat on another airline.Overall they are good and the price is usually cheaper for me.I also like the layover time. It's just long enough to go to the rest room, wash my face and hands, and get something to eat, if I want ,without rushing to the... read full review »

I log many sky miles and have flown on many different airlines.  Granted, I believe that any type of travel is becoming expensive but, I still want to feel like the airline I've chosen is glad that I've chosen their airline over others.  Frontier makes me feel that way.  Anytime I've had a concern, customer service has responded very quickly.  They have always tried their best to accommodate my family's needs when flying.  Other airlines make you feel like they are doing you a favor by allowing you to fly their airlines.  Thanks for the breath of fresh air Frontier.

I was to fly from salt lake to Denver then to mexico, but the plane couldn't get out of denver, so they put us on a different airline.  First they made a mistake on my ticket and I had to rush around the airport trying to get a ticket. Then they sent my luggage to a different place than what they were suppose to so I did't receive my luggage for two days after I got to mexico.  I had nothing.  Then when I finally got my luggage many items were missing, very expensive items.  Needless to say I had a horrible vacation.

Frontier Airlines really works for our family.  We use them frequently for travel from Phoenix.  The directv for a four year old is fantastic (both Nickelodeon and Boomerang provide cartoons).  Price can be good if you shop frequently and the frequent flyer program is the best anywhere.  Bring your own food is the only drawback the snacks they tout are not any different than any of the other carriers.

I am not impressed with Frontier as an airlines. For some reason everytime I fly with them I have a bad experiance. My mother in law flew with them recently and had to make an emergancy landing due to the engine having issues. Something always seems to happen that makes the trip take to long and it never goes smoothly. It is nice that they offer the video screens during the trips though.

Frontier Airlines is probably one of my favorite airlines.  They serve a higher quality snack that is included with your airfare.  They have televisions on the back of all the seats with Directv (you do have to pay for that, however).  Their staff was pretty nice and made it easier to board with a young child...I was traveling alone with just a three-year old.

I received the best customer service from there staff. I flew from Memphis to Orlando and returned from Orlando to Memphis. I called to request a window seat and immediately got a service representative who assisted with the changes and was very pleasant. I did not have to wait at either airport. There lines move very fast and the staff are so helpful and polite.

While the price was okay there really isn't much good or bad to say. It got us there on time and in one piece. It's a drag to have to pay for a snack that I'm sure was given to the airline but if it keeps the price down...what the heck. If your willing to forgo the comforts and want to save money on flight then this is the airline for you
