Frito-Lay Baked Cheetos Review Summary

If you're watching fat and calories but hate to give up great tasting snacks, reviewers say, "Give Frito-Lay baked Cheetos a try." These baked treats have about half the calories or the original fried Cheetos, and most snackers say they really can't tell the difference. You get the same cheesy, crunchy flavor as well as the same cheese colored fingers, but you get much less fat. When you've just got to have something sinful, pick up a bag of baked Cheetos and see what everyone is raving about.

I have to admit that I am addicted to Baked Cheetos. I dont know when this fascination started, but over the last 6 months, I have developed quite the addiction. I can be found munching on Baked Cheetos for breakfast, lunch and as a pre-dinner snack. Add a diet coke to that (which I am not a big pop...

Baked Cheetos are about as wonderful as those fat free potato chips-(you remember, the ones linked to digestive distress because of olestra?)  I realize that companies are trying to cater to our more healthful nature, and provide snack foods that aren't damaging, but you also don't particularly want... read full review »

So, it happens to all of us, especially us women.  Sometimes... I just have to have something crunchy, salty, and bad for me.  And I don't want 10 of them, I want... 30 something of them.  Which is great, because a serving of Baked Crunchy Cheetos is about 35 pieces.

The Pros:

On the positive side, this Baked product can totally match up in the crunch arena to the original product, which is fried.  (Fun Fact: puffed Cheetos, not from the Baked line, are baked.  I learned this on Unwrapped, a great Food Network show.)

They are visually pretty much the same, so this is also great mental trickery...

Frito Lays Cheetos are chrunchy and Deliously cheesy! I like the small serving size so if I eat the whole bag I don't feel to guilty! These are a yummy treat! My whole family enjoys the baked Frito chip variety! You should try a couple of flavors today, to make lunch just a bit more scrumptious! I especially enjoy the Hot Cheetos!

Loved them since they came out. Of course the telltale cheesy fingers is the only drawback to this snack. Nothing a lil wet wipe doesn't  handle. I accidently purchased the Shrek ones and if they came in green all the time I wouldn't buy them. I found the green color harder to get off my fingers not to say the teeth, Yuck!

I decided to buy a regular size bag of these at Walmart the other day.  When I opened them (the same day I bought them) thinking that I'd be digging into a still tasty but less sinful version of the original, I was horribly disgusted.

This is my first try of baked cheetos, so I'm not sure if the disgusting flavor was from my bag only or if the nastiness is consistent across the board.

It tasted like I was eating plastic or something very similar to it with a light very underflavored dusting of cheese (?????).  There was more of a chemical or plastic flavor to these little bites than anything....

Recently, I  tried Frito-Lay baked Cheetos as my husband raved about them. Since we are both snack lovers, I was willing to give these a chance. I was a bit doubtful that they would taste similar to the regular Cheetos snack. However, I was very impressed. First of all, when dieting, it is hard to find substitute products that have flavor and are low in calories. These snacks are perfect! Not only do they have the same delicious crunch as regular Cheetos snacks, they have the same flavor, not a chemical or bland taste as some of the dietary products that are on the market.

I am also very impressed...

These are yummy and almost 1/2 the calories as reg cheetos. The taste is almost the same. The baked cheetos are a little more crunchy but I love that. A few of these and you are full. They really fill you up so that makes them a good snack. I love them and I am sure you will also. However they are a little more expensive.

I have found that baked Cheetos are a  little bit healthier than the au gratin potato chips that I was addicted to for awhile.  I was eating way too many and needed to change "addictions" so I tried the baked Cheetos.  I used to eat the crunchy fried Cheetos all the time, but figured if I was trying to break a bad addiction, I shouldn't eat those.  So I tried the baked Cheetos and found that I liked them even better than the crunchy.  Now I don't have to feel quite so guilty eating half  a bag at one time, although it would be better if I didn't!  I will definitely be buying these much more... read full review »

I really like to eat these as a snack in the evening. I open the bag, curl up with a good book and crunch.  But you need to be careful for the orange powder. It can get on your book so that is not so good.  But I love the taste and curch.  Again, they are messy to eat.  The orange powder drives my husband nuts. He would like if I didn't eat them because they are messy.  But I like them.

Baked Cheetos and Flaming Hot Baked Cheetos are so close to the original that it's really hard to tell which is which. I really think that this is the only great tasting baked chip like product out there. The Doritos and Ruffles just don't cut it. Now saying that the cheetos don't save much on fat, but I guess if you're going to eat them, might as well have less fat in the process. I highly recommend this baked brand.

I buy baked cheetos rarely, mostly because my children do not like them. I could sit and eat a handful of these. They are ok, could do without the cheesy fingers. And they tend to have a dry taste that is not to appealing to me.  Baked cheetos are a snack, that I could do without. Only if I have a taste for cheesiness will I buy these. I would say that these have a rating of  5 on a scale of 1-10.

OK, THESE ARE GREAT. YOU HAVE EXTREME CHEESE FLAVOR BLASTING RIGHT INTO YOUR MOUTH AND YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL SNACK THAT IS LOW FAT AND LOW CALORIES. WOW!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SNACK TO ANYONE THAT IS ON A DIET OR WATCHING WHAT THEY EAT. THEY ARE WONDERFUL WITH A SANDWICH OR JUST BY THEMSELVES.  THEY ONLY PROBLEM WITH THEM IS THAT THEY TURN YOUR FINGERS ORANGE AND YOU JUST MAY EAT THE WHOLE BAG. :-)

I was leery of "baked" anything because I've tried some baked items, & was not impressed. These cheetoes are almost like the original ones. Lots of cheese on them, lots of crunch & I don't feel guilty eating them. I would definitely recommend these to other people & would serve them at parties. I don't think people would even know that they aren't fried cheetos.

If you like the crunch than this is where its at. You can tell that they are baked they got a natural taste to them. When I first tried the chips I liked the flavor of them off top. They seems to be more cheesy to me but you know eveybody has they own opinon when it comes to flavor, but I think everybody will agree with me on these chips, they are a great snack chip
