I purchased this washer and matching dryer in January of 2008. I have not regretted this purchase for a second! I did not purchase the pedestals that raise the set, and have regretted that. I love that it uses so little energy. It even knows how much water you need for each load! It is not as large as some HE washers, but that does not matter for my needs. I don't have that much laundry.
You will not regret purchasing this machine! It really saves wear on your clothing, and saves on your energy bills!

1) Clothes smell Nasty with an awful odor
2) The drain clogs all the time
3) It Want Spin half the TIME!
4) IT has all these fancy settings and buttons and u can't change most of them! THey are for LOOKS ONLY!
5) It has a rubber casing inside the door that constantly has mold u have to KEEP cleaning and cleaning it.
6) ITs NOT RELIABLE AT ALL!
7) The parts are always breaking and they are always on back order. * Not a big surprise since these washers suck and they are all a pick of CRAP!*... review »

This is my first front loading washer. I would have to say that it has broken down more times than any other washer that I've owned. I've had the electrical go out on it several times and the door handle has broken off ( both problems that I've never had with another washer). The inner layer with the rubber gets moldy pretty easy and baby socks seem to come up missing. We even had a time where a baby sock went into the drain and clogged it up.

Affinity Front Load Washer-Has had a small leak for about a year (estimate because installed new carpet in adjacent room last year). Washer is less than 2 years old and has required more than one service call. Yes, I purchased the extended warranty. The local sales rep replaced the washer at no charge, but apparently had to eat the cost because Electrolux (makes frigidaire) denied the claim because the washer is more than one year old.
The carpet in the adjaent room...ruined. Waiting to see if electrolux will pay for replacement. Not getting my hopes up. I plan to go to the local rep...

There is a slight odor after using the washer if the door is not left open a crack to let the washer dry out. Occasionally if a heavy item, like a bathroom rug the washer is not able to spin it enough.

We have had our unit for over a year now. Worked great at first but then noticed it starting to leak around the front door seal and was shooting water out the side of the door during spin cycle. Had a repair man come 3 times and said there is nothing wrong and use less soap. After the last visit i was ****** so I said change the bloody gasket while it is under warranty still. He said after repairing the unit that there were a lot of similar problems with this particular unit. Since gasket was replaced it no longer leaks but wonder if it will have to be replaced again next year. Dont know if we...
