Frigidaire Washer - Affinity Front Load Review

My family had this unit for years:

1.  It broke-door lock broke it is plastic 

 2. Also when I filled  washer about as full as I could  I often had to hold the door closed manually to prevent the unit from shutting off mid-cycle

3.  Sales people led me to believe this 2.8 cu ft unit would wash a very large volume of clothes and that I could pack this unit fill with clothing-unfortunately #1 #2 noted above were the result

4.  As a result the unit is not able to handle as much volume of clothing as you may be led to believe

5.  In addition my wife and I became familiar with the foul odor  that hits you when you open the front load washer door the day after doing a load of laundry in the machine

6.  At one point, we were in the laundromat and all the machines were in use except for the old-fashioned top loaders which we used.  WOW What a surprise-Our clothes came out actually smelling clean then I realized that the top loaders actually use more water and apparently this gets your clothes alot cleaner perhaps just by thoroughly rinsing your clothes-think about it if you wash and rinse all your clothes in a large container vs. a smaller one which holds less water your clothes will actually have less dirt and dirty smell in them when more, not less water is used!

7.  We then purchased a high efficiency top loading (Oasis) machine after two front loaders and unfortunately, our clothes still have the foul odor the next day after we did a load of laundry when we  go to empty the machine- in my opinion this macine  also doesn't use enough water and is very rough on our clothes- our clothes seem to be wearing out rather quickly with holes.  I theorize this is due to the twisting style agitator in the bottom of the Oasis machine which the clothes are against- at least with a standard (non high efficiency) top loader your clothes are constantly suspended in water when being washed! (Also there is not typically any foul odor on your clothes 1 day later after being washed when you open the machine to throw them in the dryer!).
