We go the Frigidaire Side by Side Refrigerator when we were a newly wed couple. It had SO much room that the two of us hardly ever filled it up. As our family grew we realized that we might have to upgrade to a bigger one simply because of the freezer size. The top 1/3 of the freezer is taken up by the Ice maker so you lose all that space. And the ice maker is not removable, so if you want to dump all the ice into a cooler you need to hold the button down to empty it. Not horrible, but still not as convenient. The fridge part is still more than enough for our mid sized family. The feature I LOVE the most is the milk shelf in the door. It is so nice to have the milk right there. You don't have to dig for it every morning and you save all that shelf space inside the main part for other items.

When my husband and I started the adventure of having our retirement log home built in the mountains of Tennessee two years ago we were faced with making more selections over a short period of time then we had every made before in our many years of marriage. We also knew that we would be living with these decisions for a very long time. It was fun and nerve wracking at the same time! One of the bigger decisions that we needed to make was our appliances. We knew that we wanted a refrigerator that was side by side and that had an icemaker with an in door water and ice despenser. I did a lot of searching online and in stores and finally found one that met our specifications in the Fridgidaire Model FRS6HF6J. There are some things about it that could be better however. The freezer is not large enough and the icemaker takes up a lot of room in the freezer. The major problem however is that the icemaker doesn't stay in place. As it fills with ice it moves forward out of alignment and needs to be constantly readjusted. I probably would not buy this model if I had it to do over again.
