Our oven was in our home when we purchased it a little over 2 years ago.  The oven is not very old at all, but I do not like it.  I previously owned a Frigidaire Self-Cleaning oven that functioned much better, so I don't know if this is a "dud" or not.  It could very well be a calibration issue with the baking temperature, but it is very frustrating trying to figure out what the correct temperature is for this particular oven.  It is extremely frustrating to me because I'm a baker; I love to bake cookies, cakes, pies, breads, etc.  It is very difficult to feel proud of your baked goods when they get too dark on the outside and stay gooey on the inside.  I have tried lowering the temperature by up to 50 degrees F. lower and/or adjusting the bake time.  It takes a lot of guess work and LOTS of extra time and attention to check on food in the oven each time I cook.  Food ingredients are way too expensive to ruin in an unprecise oven.

With all of that being said, my stovetop range cooks fine.  And, with that extra care and attention, the oven can produce acceptable items; it just gets annoying to try and figure out exactly how sometimes.
