At the same time I bought the Frigidaire GLTF1040SA front-loading washer, I bought this Frigidaire GLGQ332 "matching" gas dryer  (please see my separate review for the washer if you're interested).  The Frigidaire GLGQ332 dryer is the same form-factor as the Frigidaire GLTF1040SA washing machine, namely it can be stacked or used side-by-side, and the controls are located on the front of the machine, rather than on a panel mounted on the top of the machine towards the back edge as is more common with most laundry appliances.

The main reason I bought this dryer was that it matched the form-factor of the washing machine I wanted to buy, and also that it ran on gas.  Electric dryers are more flexable if you move and cannot get gas where your new home is, since you certainly are likely to have a 230V connection for an electric dryer in your laundry area even if you have a home plumbed for gas...without going into the merits of natural gas to heat rather than electricity, I will just say that I prefer gas where available, and since my home has a gas hookup, I took advantage of that resource.

That said, the dryer does dry quickly, has a moisture sensor (if you want to let it shut off based on dampness of clothes) but otherwise is a pretty basic dryer.  Since the washing machine spin cycle wrings a lot of the water out of clothes, there is less drying that needs to be done by the dryer.  However, I've noted more of a likelihood that clothes come out wrinkled from this dryer than my previous (conventional gas-fired) dryer for whatever reason...I'm not sure why.  There's no rack for drying tennis shoes or anything, so yes, this is a basic dryer.

Like the washing machine, you have to stoop down low to load or remove clothing from this dryer, but that's common with dryers (are there any top-loading dryers?), so a pedestal or shelf mount can be helpful for those with bad backs or who don't like to bend over.  Alternatively you can mount the dryer to the top of the matching washer using a bracket so that at least the dryer is up at eye level, which is an unusual capability.  Note that as previously mentioned the controls located on the front of the machine, while convenient, also means you don't have the typical control panel mounted on the back edge of the dryer, so items put on the dryer can fall back behind the dryer (don't put flamable items like papers on the dryer so that they can fall in back and maybe cause a fire!...or install a permanent shelf on top of the washer/dryer that you can put stuff on that blocks the gap between the appliance and the wall).

There's a large removeable lint filter located at the leading edge of the door, easy to access.  The door is large and opens to the side (not sure if it may be reversed if you wanted it to open the other way..it opens the direction I prefer it to open already).
