Frigidaire Front Loader Dryer is awesome but there are issues.

I love my Frigidaire Front Loader dryer but there are some issues. My husband and I purchased our Frigidaire Front Loader Dryer approximately 4 years ago and for the most part I really love the dryer but there has been a couple of issues that we have had with the Dryer. When we first purched the dryer, it broke right away and they tried to blame us that we were doing something wrong and my husband had to prove that we were not. Thank god we always purchase the extra warranty on all our expensive appliances. The other issue I have and I wish I would have known is: My husband and I are both disabled and we both have bad backs and with the front loader dryer it kills my back to do laundry. If the salesman would have told me that could be a issue I might have not purchased the front loader, (the salesman knew both my husband and I have health issues). Other than the original problem that got taken care of eventually, the front load back pain to use the dryer is really the only problem. If I would have known, I would have purchased the top load Dryer. If I could go back and redo this purchase, I would definitely puchase a washer and dryer with the Top Loader.

Would Not Recommend Frigidaire for Laundry Purposes

While we loved our Frigidaire dryer for awhile, after the first year it all went downhill. We were glad to have invested in the extended warranty as the heating coil fried three times in the span of one year - fortunately the warranty covered all expenses and we paid nothing more out of pocket. Unfortunately, a warranty doesn't cover all the tank-tops, children's overalls and draw-string items I lost due to the dryer's poor design. Straps, strings and other hanging items snagged easily on the lint trap located near the door. After getting caught, the item would continue to spin with the dryer until they finally tore free - destroying a number of items and causing me to air-dry about 1/4 of every load - which defeats the purpose of owning a dryer in the first place. After five years, the heating ability decreased drastically, requiring about two hours to dry anything. Needless to say, Frigidaire did not make the list of brands to consider when we finally invested in a new dryer. Very disappointing to have to replace such a big appliance in so short a time span.
