Defective ice maker in 8 months!

Frigidaire Frigidaire Gallery 22.6 Cu. Ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator —
Frigidaire 22.6 side by side was purchased in November. In 8 months the ice maker is not working. Service called and I wsa told it needs to be replaced.
Temperature in referigerator unit does not stay stable. The top shelf will freeze and the bottom shelf the milk will spoil being too warm.
It is also very hard to see on the first shelf items to the back. The shelf space is narrow.
