In an effort to make our Family Room more tolerable we purchased a little 6000 BTU window unit air conditioner.We put it in one of the windows in our family room and plugged it in.Then we turned it on.It took no time at all to cool the room.We do have a central heating and air system that is designed to accomidate our house. Our family room was added on to our house after the system was installed. Our Family Room is 20"x 24".A six thousand BTU air conditioner is not large enough to cool a room of that size.It does however cool our family room with no problems.We thoroughly enjoy our little 6000 BTU Frigidaire Air Conditioner.It keeps our family room cool and comfortable. We have not had any problems with our Fridgidaire yet. Our Fridgerdaire air conditioner came with a remote so it is not necessary for us to get up in order to turn the unit on or off or to regulate the temperature in any way. This air conditioner operates off 110 electrical power which is much more economical than 210 electrical power which is what most of the window units use.
