Frigidaire 30" Self-Cleaning Freestanding Electric Range Review

I've had my Frigidaire Electric Range for two years now, and have never had one single problem.  I cook A LOT and bake A LOT, and after all the use I've put on my Range, I'd almost expect some wear and tear on it.  However, it continues to cook at an even temperature and still looks great.

The best part about this particular model is...it's self cleaning!  That is awesome!  And when they say it's self cleaning, they really mean it.  However, you need to do it on a day that is warm outside because the windows have to be open to clean the oven.  It puts off a very bad, very strong odor, so if you don't ventilate the house, you may feel ill.  Also, the oven gets extremely HOT while it's cleaning, so be sure to have any small children away from the area.  Self cleaning takes several hours, so be sure to give yourself enough time to use this feature.  When the time is up, you'll have a nice clean oven and you don't have to do anything extra except give it a very quick wipe down.

The range has a ceramic cook-top, which is something new to me.  I've never cooked on a cook-top before, and was a bit intimidated.  However, it is very simple to use and clean.  Just wipe it off after every use, and also use a cleaner made especially for ceramic cook-tops to keep it looking its best.

The range has a light that illuminates when the cook-top is hot.  The burners light red when it's in use, but turn black when it's not.  Sometimes though, the burners stay hot for awhile after-wards, so that's what the light is for.  To remind you that you can still burn yourself.

For the first time in my life, I have an oven with a light!  I LOVE THAT!  I can peak in on what I'm baking without interrupting the cooking temperature.  There are two cooking racks inside the oven that can be removed entirely or simply changed around to accommodate larger items, like a turkey. 

There is a digital clock that also has a built it timer.  The timer is simple to use, and very handy to have instead of having to use a separate timer to keep track of.  The temperature control knobs indicate which burner you are using, and you can select from a very low "1" heat, to a very high "10" heat.  There is also a simmer button that I use all the time.

My Frigidaire Range also came with a one year warranty, however, I never needed to use it.  As I said, this range works fantastic and it has been a very reliable appliance that I'd recommend to anyone.  Especially at a price of under $ 600.00!
