Friday Night Lights, Season One Review

I couldn't get enough of Friday Night Lights! This is one of the best shows to hit TV in a very long time.  I was disappointed when it was dropped, and excited when I found it continued this year on directv.  You can find this show this season on channel 101 on directv only. What I love about this show is the "realness" of each character. I substitute teach and I can see "every teen" in this show.  You could take any one of these kids and put them in any high school anywhere and they would fit in.  This is not your Beverly Hills 90210 spoiled brat mentality that your average joe can only despise.  These characters are full of life and real problems.  Don't we all wish our own kids high school counselor would take such an interest in our childrens lives as Tammy Taylor.  This season I see Tammy, now as high school principle, battling the same situations I see in every community and school I've ever lived in and associated with... education vs sports. Why is there always funding for sports but not teachers and general education?  The problems the kids and parents face are real and touching.
