Years ago, Fresca (produced by the Coca-Cola Company) was considered to be a rather exclusive ... almost elitist ... soda for people with discriminating tastes. It wasn't always easy to find in the stores either. I guess I must have given up on it totally because I had forgotten about it until suddenly it resurfaced in promising sparkling fruit flavors such as Peach Citrus and Black Cherry. I decided to give Fresca Sparkling Peach Citrus a shot.
STATS:
A 12-oz. can is considered to be a single serving which supposedly contains no calories and 35 mg. sodium. Included with the rash of almost undecipherable ingredients are citric acid, "natural flavors" and the concentated grapefruit juice which is the major component of the famous Fresca taste. I would have preferred this delightful beverage to taste a bit more peachy than it does but I'm not complaining.
TASTE TIP:
Here's something odd. Normally I prefer carbonated beverages to be as cold as possible, but Fresca Sparkling Peach Citrus -- like wine -- tastes better when it has only been chilled for a half hour or so. Go figure!
