Freedom Writers  —

Freedom Writer was a fabulous movie in many ways. It completely inspired the teens I took; they wanted their English teacher to get the book for the class and incorporate it into his curriculum; it got them to think and generated conversations about the topic among us; it brought more understanding to them about people, racism and the affect it has on society. Although we know that racism exists in our society, it was disheartening to the kids when they watched this movied because it brought the reality of it to the surface. It made them think of why things have to be this way and why do people allow it. I highly recommend this movie.

What movie did you see? It was a piece of garbage and an insult to the black community. I guess it was also a wonderful situation on the plantation where the nice white lady looked after her poor blacks, who would have been hopelessly lost without her to show them the error of theie ways. Give me a break!
