FREEBIE FINDS REVIEW UPDATE

I received a truly informative email from Freebie Finds that impressed me so much, I had to update this rating with an additional star.  In short, the email described the process by which freebies are posted to ensure they are legitimate offers in an online world rife with scams, spam, and phishing.  Lisa's attention to the details, her knowledge about online identity security, and her efforts to provide only the best offers deserve nothing short of five stars. Original Review

Oh the wonderful things you discover just by reading reviews at Viewpoints.  Freebie Finds is the brainchild of VP reviewer Lisa Carey.  Lisa has created a compelling resource for coupons, samples, sales notices, and yes, lots of free stuff.  To me, what makes this site stand out from similar sites is the quality of the freebie finds.

FreebieFinds.Blogspot.com

My first visit to Freebie Finds yielded more than the expected $1.00 off coupons and sample floss that you find at all the other freebie sites.  I actually signed up for an offer to receive advance reading copies of 3 upcoming novels published by Random House.  As an avid reader, this was like striking pay dirt!    In addition, there was an offer for a free audiobook download of the best selling non-fiction story "Into The Wild."  Now, these are my kind of freebies.

In addition to the books, I signed up for samples of Pantene shampoo and conditioner, a sugar substitute, and pain reliever.  None of the sample requests required me to fill out a survey, nor was I required to provide personal household information in order to get the sample.  In my view, that shows the quality of the offers that are listed on the site.  I never felt like I had to promise my first born just to get a pouch of sugar substitute.  Lisa does an excellent job of sifting through the junk and sharing only the best of the available offers out there.

The only downside to the freebie experience is that some of the links didn't work when I clicked on them.  This is understandable because many of these offers are limited by either time or product supply.  The layout could be improved to make the offers easier to find and read, but that is a small matter.  The best thing that Freebie Finds has going for it is the quality of the offers.  You can even sign up to receive periodic offers directly in your email, so you'll never miss a great deal.  Send an email to editor@newcreativewriting.com to subscribe to the newsletter.

Overall, Freebie Finds is a useful, must-bookmark site for anyone who loves a freebie, is interested in trying out a sample, clips coupons, or otherwise is looking to save money (especially in this rocky economy).

I can't wait to see what goodies this week will bring.

Thank you so much! I just HATE scams and hear so often about people getting roped into offers they don't want, stuck with credit card bills they can't pay and getting stuck yes, promising their first and second born child to get a freebie. It wastes our time and money and it sure doesn't help the promotion or business that is offering it any. I am so glad the knowledge helps!

Great write-up.. I'm glad you like it as much as I do :) As a busy mom it's a great resource to be able to find free stuff so I can try new products without having to buy an entire package.

Oh...that's right. I was so concentrated on the offers I guess I overlooked the Viewpoints widgets (really a nice touch!) Freebie Finds is definitely deserving of reviews, and I can really see it growing rapidly. Good luck with it. I'll do my part to get the word out. :)

SHOCK! I had no idea that you were writing on it! I am so glad you are enjoying the offers. And point taken about layout, as the site grows I have to keep making changes, it may be time for another update to the design. . . you forgot to mention a "widget" that links to many of my friends product reviews at Viewpoints :-) Sharing the collective knowledge of viewpoints :-)
