I dislike computer games, but when I found Freerice.com, I almost became addicted. 20 grains of rice are donated to the UN World Food Program for each correct answer. When I substitute teach I let the students play this game @ snack time or if they have indoor recess. They love it! The level can be changed so the kids in the lower grades can play too. My favorite features are the fact that the level changes as you improve so the questions get more difficult, also the words or questions that you got wrong are repeated until you get them correct. You really have to check out the site fully to use it to your best advantage. When I first found Freerice I didn't realize that there were other subjects offered, or maybe they have been added. I have had my math students use the site to review multiplication facts. For older kids & adults there are famous paintings, chemistry & world geography. Check out this site, help yourself & the world.
