For several years now I have participated in a fantasy football league. This is the first year that we took the league to foxports.com, the two previous years we had been playing through Yahoo. Yahoo had been a pretty good experience but the players in our league had heard good things about Fox sports so we figured that we would give it a shot.

There are several positive and negative things that you need to know about Fox Fantasy before you join or create a league.

On the negative side, Fox Fantasy does not support Mac users. This created a huge problem for our league of 12 players, whom over half are Mac users.  Mac users are able to log on and check scores and any of the other options that that Fox Fantasy interface allows.  The problem is that Mac users cannot set their line-ups or make any sort of player transaction.  Being a Mac user myself I found it very annoying that I had to find a PC to use anytime I needed to propose a trade or set my line-up for the upcoming week of games. Even using a PC there were some trouble spots. Unlike Yahoo for instance, you have to substitute one player at a time, which in itself is time consuming. On yahoo I was able to perform all my line-up changes and make the move with one click of the button. There is another annoying part of this process, a lot of the times after switching a player on the roster spot, a page not found message comes up and I have to log back into Fox Sports all together to resume making roster changes.

On the positive side Fox Fantasy has a great interface. There is tons of information provided in a user friendly way.  Without having to go away from the site you can research and find every bit of information that any fantasy junkie may want to obtain.  From expert analysis, latest news, injury reports, performance trends, everything is at your fingertips.  Fox sports also includes live in game stats while you're logged on. I know that Yahoo doesn't offer this, and it's great to see what my players are producing numbers wise while I'm logged in. The site includes all the traditional amenities as well, there's an easy to use message board for all your trash talking needs and there's the days top NFL headlines for your viewing pleasure. There is so much information that when you aren't familiar with it at first, it may come off as cluttered or disorganized. This is hardly the case once you become familiar with all its services.

Having used the site on a PC because of the previously mentioned negative aspects of the site, I have seen its full potential. I would suggest the site to anyone with a PC.  Fox Sports has done a great job making the site user friendly and easy to use. That being said, anyone with a Mac might want to think twice about entering a league on Fox Sports, unless you have a PC readily available to set line-ups and make player acquisitions.
