While the Taurus may have a nice sleek appearance and a roomy interior, much is left to be desired under the skin. The factory Ford parts are less than dependable and I've literally spent twice what I paid for the car in maintenance. The caliber brackets, alternator, suspension, struts, and engine block have all needed work. The thing leaks oil (a common Ford problem) no matter how many time and places get repaired. practical, not rich
This was the second Ford Taurus I owned. It was the third Ford vehicle to need a transmission rebuilt for my family. Two Taurus' and one Windstar, all within 18 months, the transmissions needed to be rebuilt. My husband and I were totally disgusted and after repairs, took the loss and sold the vehicles, practically giving them away. I was saddened by an American icon that had such poor performance and outcome. For my husband and I, we will do our best not to ever buy or drive a Ford again. —…
